Hello .
I know is not a new problem with Disco and AMD cards , but maybe in the midtime someone has an solution for my problem .
The problems are :
- i can't turn off v-sync , no whatever i've tried , the game still runs on monitor refresh rate
- i could leave with that , BUT also freezes for a fraction of second (on an 5-6 seconds interval) and that is very anoying . Also , that on any rezolution / refresh rate
With my integrated IGP (core i3) never ever had any problems .
Could anyone give me an working solution for my problem ? I also tried the folowing , but no effect :another AMD problem thread
Thanks in advance . I can't play it like that , that 1 second freezing at any 5 seconds is realy too anoying .
I had the same problem with a similar GPU. Solved it by running Dxtory in the background with its "Limit Video FPS" option set at 59 (monitor refresh rate - 1).
The results are:
- significantly less input lag;
- the annoying freeze every few seconds is gone;
- no need to turn V-Sync off -> no frame tearing.
There should be some label like VSync control and select always off and enable force aggressive API detection .
Remember freelancer is a pretty old game you will have ~180 fps. You need a tool that limits your fps like Dxtory. Fix it at 70-100 fps should be okay then.

Solved the same problem through that solution.
Already tried that , doesn't worked as well , don't know why .
Also my wife got me an virus last night so i performed an roll back to all my system .
The stuck at 75FPS still remains , but seems that the annoying freeze is not anymore . Still i only try it like 10 minutes , but i hope the freeze won't appear anymore .
I have to renew this post only because of that :
- all ATI owners who have freezes during game , just install Disco with Bloom Effect box checked . I realy don't know why , but everytime i install it with that box checked i have no problems with freezes at avery 4-5 secs .
The 75 FPS stuck still remains , but that realy is no problem , i can play nice at 75 FPS , especialy that i mostly use cap ships .

75 FPS is plenty, you shouldn't be able to tell the difference between that and higher FPS.
If you can, your eyes are way better than mine. lol.

The main problem was that i got some strange freezes at any 4-5 seconds , not that i play at 75 FPS ( still , heheheh , with my IGP - core i3 intel , i had more than 75 FPS ) . So , in my case , the solution for the freezes is to instal Disco with Bloom effects ( not the case when i played with my IGP ) .
I am sure others face the same problem , so maybe that will help them not spending more time trying to solve the problem .
