History of the Shadow Outcast Brigade

Traders from various systems spread through out the galaxies would pick up & distribute the orange dream not just to make profit, but to hopefully enlighten all it's users with the gift that it gives. Making them more than human, making them as enlightened as the Maltese people. Those days are gone..... for now. The greed of corporate type syndicates have seized control of the fields, taking over the distribution of Cardamine & placing such taxes upon the product that it would make it hard to even impossible for small independent traders and smugglers to make any profit. They care not for the enlightenment of other races. They care only for the power the profits have brought them. This has caused much corruption, as each member of the syndicates vie for more power and profit than the others casting off even their fellow Maltese to make a profit. They have gone as far as bribing, coercing and blackmailing to gain control of the government along with some military officials to assure their profit margins regardless of the costs to the people of Malta.

Then there are those that longed for change. A hand full at first, slowly growing in time, Pirates, smugglers, assassins, and independents that could no longer stand to see the people oppressed and stripped of their pride. Ever growing in numbers, a brigade if you will, a band of fighters from various backgrounds forming together to create a force dedicated to protecting Malta and Outcasts where ever they may reside. They work from the shadows, striking the enemies of Malta, Helping the military in common causes, yet defying them in others. Doing what they feel must be done to protect their homeland & return it back to the people in hopes that Outcasts will one day soon become the glorious and proud people they once were.

Upon seeing the numbers of malcontented Maltese people steadily increase, a grand meeting was held amongst those willing to work for change. The focus of the meeting was discussions on how to change Malta back to her old ways, who was worthy to help with the cause, and how they would function as a whole .
Thus was born the Shadow Outcast Brigade.
Cutthroats, smugglers, traders, independents, & rebels united under one banner to change Malta back for it's people. A leader was elected, one that believed in the old ways, one who knew what needed to be done. Now the Brigade strikes from the shadows pirating, smuggling and performing contract assassinations to fund their growing fleet. Striving to free the Maltese people of the syndicates oppression thus removing any threat to their way of life.
Although the Brigade would never openly attack the syndicates, as they are merely confused members of the Outcast ranks, they continually make covert attempts to disrupt their inner workings.
The Brigades goals are simple. Convert syndicate members to see it's mistreatment of the Maltese people & make amends. To someday rid the government of corruption, and make a stand with the military to remove the syndicate and return the fields & profits back to the people. The Brigade's pledge, "For Malta, For Honor, For the People !"

Diplomacy:
The Shadow Outcast Brigade is an independent guerrilla Outcast militia. We assist Outcast military factions with defense of Outcast properties. Yet are not obliged to follow orders unless under a paid contract/negotiation with afore mentioned. Smuggling, piracy, weapons deals and assassinations are our primary functions. Along with the eventual conversion or expulsion of the syndicate in control of the Cardamine. We leave the diplomatic affairs to the government until such time it becomes necessary to intervene.

SOB Goals
Our goals are simple, Have fun. Support Discovery in anyway we can. Assist new members to Disco or our group/ZOI. Create an adventurous role play structure for all while improving the skills of our members role play abilities. Introduce more people into the game & the Disco Server. Achieve official faction status & work to become a well organized & respected group among the players in Disco.

What separates us from the rest
Being neither a true military faction, trader, or mercenary, SOB is basically a loose nut in the Outcast machine. Possibly causing conflicts in & out of the Outcast structure. Keeping BLS, 101st, ROS & others on their toes wondering what we might do next. Basically, we're in place to keep things lively.

Possible ideas ...(if allowed)
If we achieve having a system with a base.
We would like to introduce cardimine enhanced rum. Yes, I said RUM! There are several pirate factions and many indies running around without rum. This is preposterous! Pirates without rum is like LPI without donuts! So I say.. no rum?!?!? *goes off to ponder life without rum*

This would open a new marketable product for smuggling involving several factions and independent smugglers. Thus a new trade product & chance for illicit incomes, possibly adding more to the role play lines & the game it self.

I have encountered a few SOB members, both as a Corsair and KNF, meaning both times they were enemies. Personally, they seem to behave rather well and were in character most of the time in system chat.

Personally, flying with the SOB on most of my Outcast characters, aswell as being pirated by them on my trader, they all seem to follow the rules to the letter, and i've only seen them slip up once with an OORP pirate, but the higher ranking characters let the trader go and explained to the character that was pirating that he needed to increase his RP when pirating, since then they've been virtually perfect.

Also led one of the best raids on the corsairs that i've ever been a part of.

They get my vote

SOB makes me think of....sons of ...you ve heard it before probably.

You have the sso down twice. How about making it kos BHers, freelancers or mercs "seeking bounties against the SOB" or can i expect at least a "hello" before I get creased?

I've only had one encounter with you guys, and it hasn't been very nice, I'm not going to lie.

Two Gunboats in Honshu with the sole purpose of NPC hunting? That doesn't seem very nice. And what seems even less nice is a refusal to RP with an angry farmer asking you nicely to leave. Just because you have a bigger ship does not mean that you have a bigger RP automatically, or that I do either, but saying nothing and moving a tradelane down to continue hunting NPC's without a word, then not saying anything when my brick of a fighter states that he will fire on you, and then taunting him when he pulls out of the fight without coming near to destroying him is not very nice at all.

What I view the moral of my story is? The words posted here are cute and all, but you need to back it up with RP on the server, otherwise it means nothing.

about that incident.....

the fault is mine.

there were four or five other people in the system excluding you, me, and the other gunboat, and when you started saying, "leave now gaijin" i didnt know what you were saying(im going to guess that it is japanese). i was under the impression that you were talking to someone else. i jumped back through the trade lane when my partner said he had encountered more destroyers and gunboats, and didnt see you on my scanners until i was already in the lane. At the time i got out of the lane, i checked my lists to see if the Farmers were hostile to the outcasts, and by the time i found it on this stupid thing, you had opened fire on ym partner. If i had know you were talking to me, i would have RP'd it out.
