As the Rheinland Military campaign against Liberty ground down into a long, sustained conflict, much of their forces had to be tasked to the frontline. This left large gaps in the patrols at the borderworlds, in the Omega and Sigma regions. Increasingly, the heavily armored but lightly armed Colossus convoys came under pressure from Corsair and Hessian raiders. A distress call could no longer guarantee help would arrive in time.

Realising they were largely on their own beyond Rheinland's borders, [[Republican Shipping]] started to look for an alternative with more firepower. Not willing or able to invest into designing a new vessel from scratch, engineers looked through the archives until they came upon the design of a heavily armed H-Fuel transport, a relic from the 80 years war. Realising it had many of the desired characteristics, a huge cargo capacity, and an extensive point defense system to deter smaller raiders, work was started to adapt the ship as a general cargo vessel. While originally designed for gaseous or liquid cargo transporting, its pods can now accomodate a wide variety of cargo. This has drawn the attention of various other Rheinland corporations, especially [[Kruger]] and [[ALG]].

When it became apparent that even the [[Manaslu]] class fighters could not match the staying power of the old Colonial "[[Nyx]]" class fighters they were replacing, [[IMG]] engineers set out to modify the design to increase its endurance. The resulting vessel is a brutal heavy fighter, with a large power core to power the strongest fighter shield and weapon arrays yet known to the [[IMG]]. Additional engine blocks were needed to power the ship, but even with there, maneuverability suffered significantly.

While more expensive than the [[Manaslu]], the Lhotse is considered the workhorse of the [[IMG]] fleet, serving in many roles ranging from protecting convoys, to heavy patrols.

The Hel cruiser is an early Red Hessian capital ship project that has since been superseded by newer and more effective ship designs inspired by the war with the Corsairs. Most Hel class cruisers in existence spend their days moored to a Red Hessian station as a last ditch defence effort in case of a hostile attack. Others are sold or given to other groups allied to the Red Hessians as "gifts" or bargaining pieces. A few are even left simply floating in space despite being only lightly damaged. Deemed not worthwhile to expend resources to repair them, they simply wait for another determined group to haul them off and restore them to service.

Agility, speed and overwhelming firepower wrought through heavy investment in technological superiority have always been the hallmark of Outcast design philosophy. This mindset served their space efforts well, preserving their limited numbers against countless adversaries for centuries.

The new upgrade to the aging "Juggernaut" class Zoner capital ship was named "Nephilim" after the race of legendary giants. Zoners have customized these vessels to fill multiple roles on the modern battlefield as well as serve as heavy transports and supply ships for the most remote regions of space.

Ships of this class take up unbelievably vast amounts of resources and expert engineering, but are also designed to be in service for several generations, justifying their great cost. The Zoners who travel into the unknown of deep space trust these ships to sustain them during long explorations that are expected to take several generations, and thus outfit the ships to be capable of light industry and hydroponic food production during the voyage. The Nephilim is also capable of making planetfall and establishing a fully autonomous colony.

The new Nephilim is equipped with an expanded docking bay, upgraded navigation and tactical stations, and improved fire control computers. Its reactor core is far more efficient than the previous design, propelling the ship with the same core used in the "Leviathan" class.

It is not known how many of these ships are deployed by the Zoners or to what exact use they are all put, but it has become a certainty that the Zoners do have the capability to produce them.

Based on a popular airship common to [[Liberty|Libertonian]] skies for generations; the day to day travel needs, and wallets, of the clientele pushed the development of this ship from the household docking platform to the interstellar [[Trade Lane|tradelanes]]. A joint project between [[Samura]] and [[Kishiro]], the Kusari Battlecruiser was designed to fill the gap between light destroyers and heavy battleships, and provide heavy support in asteroid fields where battleships are often unable to operate due to their size, but where destroyers might be outgunned by heavy cruisers. This light auxillary vessel was built by Samura to try and regain some of the Kusari civilian ship market that had been taken by Kishiro and Renzu during previous years. Designed as a high end personal craft, it was meant to ferry couriers in between planets and bases quickly and in safety. While it is used for this purpose often, once the ship made it onto the open market it became a popular choice for many Kusari civilians. Though it seems that few official producers seem to have records of many ships being purchased by the Hogosha and Farmer's Alliance, it seems to be their favorite choice as scout and surveillance ships, and is a very common sight in Hogosha and Farmer's Alliance hands.

The people at the discovery dev team have remembered what Light Fighters are about.
Maneuverability.

If you even vaguely turn in this ship you will be hard to hit.
Countermeasures are pretty much invalid since you can dodge a missile anyway, maybe making way for a cloaking device?

This ship has a tiny profile at the front, but just remember this ship does not have as much armor as some other light fighters.
If you get shot for a worryingly short amount of time, destruction will ensue.

But what I think works well is two Neutralizer Missiles and a Cannonball missile using a hit and run tactic.
Or 2 Heavy Flashpoints and an Adv.Debilitator?

Anyway if your looking for a civilian ship to keep you out of danger or even one of the Naval Forces RPing as a scout.

Missiles are a projectile based weapon, usually guided under self propulsion. Faster than [[Torpedoes]] but doing less damage, missiles are capable of stripping their targets guns and equipment, leaving the target unable to counterattack, and reducing the target's options to fleeing or dying. Missiles are physical-form weapons and so are limited to a certain amount of rounds that a ship can carry. For safety reasons, 70 is the maximum quantity that any dockmaster will load onto your ship at any one time of a particular missile type.
