Saumur is a battleship of the now obsolete Triomphant class. The ship was built in 626 A.G.S., but has seen little actual combat. Her last active combat service was in 707 A.G.S., guarding the Picardie system. When the Charlemagne class was built specifically for rearguard duties, it rendered the remaining Triomphant class ships obsolete. Saumur however was still in near pristine condition, so the Gallic Navy decided against scrapping the ship. Instead, it was refitted at Rambouilette to serve as a mobile academy and deployed to Anjou to train future generations of Royal Navy pilots. | Saumur is a battleship of the now obsolete Triomphant class.
While technically obsolete, Saumur still carries formidable weapons, and should the worst come to pass, the ship can redeploy to the Isle de France system at a moments notice.
