The Union. Not so much a ship, as a living being. One of the largest privately owned Capital Ships in Sirius, with no ties to any faction. The large ship is often seen flying through sectors, in an random fashion. Scans on it are difficult, and when it docks, the workers that pour out are hooded or cloaked- Some looking no older than eight years old.
At the peak of the Nomad War, paranoia was rampant in Liberty, with Reinland and Kusari at the brink of war, many wanted to simply get away from it all. This led to an sizable increase in Zoner population, but, that wasn't all that was set in motion..
Roger Wire, a successful neural technician was fast at work on a newer, more powerful version of the popular "Neural Net" Program created long ago by his Grandfather. This updated version would allow you to sync information directly from one brain to another- The possibilitys where staggering. Instantly teaching a 5 year old Twelve Grades of knowledge in an instant, or a new employee knowing ~exactly~ where to start and what to do as soon as he began. However, soon after, one of Rogers trusted friends, a expert on Alien Artifacts went missing. From what he could gather, he heard liberty agents, and reignland agents where involved..
Thinking the Government was out to steal his hard work, Roger quickly put together a "Exploration Team". In reality, this group was composed of 300 people almost randomly picked off the street, and a handful of ace fighters. He had them bored a large Battleship, that he had christened "The Union". Roger's plan was to activate the Neural Net in the ship, letting everyone know the truth of what he had seen, and the urgency to leave Liberty, and, to have the knowledge of the fighter pilots passed over to everyone present, including himself.Roger waste little time after The Union was launched, at a large dinner in the ships Cafeteria, he activate his life's work-
And it worked. However, it simply worked too well.
Silence spread over the ship, as minds where lost, ego's where purged, and lifetimes of history erased. When movement stirred again, it was as one. Each person- "thing" now had its own destination, its purpose in order to keep the ship- "The Body" ready and working.
The people aboard ceased to exist as individuals, and instead, became little more than a collective mind. Since each one of them was equal, they instead thought of the ship as their body, thus creating the closest thing to a sentient Biomechanical Ship since the Nomads.
