they had an entire article on it (also front page) within PC Gamer this month (released today)
edit: just read it but instead of typing up over 7 pages(!!!) worth i'll just type up a few key points that stood out for me.
key-points:
"we are also going to have variations in boss infected, where a smoker or boomer has mutated and has slighty different abilities"
"adding more weapons, special infected and longer campaigns is a strong start to solving predictablility and boosting the tools and materials to the director"
"Forget Bill and Zoey. they wont be showing up." <- what about louis and francis then?
atleast two campaigns named "Savannah and New Orleans"
"character development will be more of a focus in L4D 2"
"The muddy bayou of the third campaign (there will be 5 in total - one more than L4D) is a flooded forest with only traces of civilisation - rustic plank shacks floating in algae pools. Get Ankle deep in one and your running speed slows down"
"Valve tells us to expect more throwables other tha njust molotoves and pipebombs aswell as variations of the simple pistols, uzis and shotguns. During play i duel-wielded different types of pistols (Glock and a 9mm). I Fired a silenced uzi that felt nimbler than the L4D 1 variant with weaker shots in tighter bursts. A powerfull revolver is in the works, and a bolt-action Carbine."
"at the correct range a buckshot burst can clip both calves off a sprinting zombie: a tomahawking axe won't always chop off a zombies head but chop a section of his skull off. you can shoot off a chunk of his stomach, you can shoot off an arm - you can have the guy with both arms shot off still running at you and it will also apply to boss infected. No more guessing how much the health the tank has, just quickly glance at his bullet-eroded body."
"The "Gauntlet", one of multiple new finale types in L4D 2 and hands-down the most exciting 20 minutes we had/ your destination from the start of the 5th campaign is a suspension bridge (show in the trailer). You get to it just before the Air Force is about to bomb it but you're able to radio the military to lower the bridge so you can get across." ****-load more on this aswell but i aint typing it all up:P
"at the end of the maze of bumpers, we reach the helipad. "get to the choppa!!" i laugh, half-high on our escape from the gauntlet, hearing Ellis shout the line, Valve actually included that line? it's one we've said collectivly at the end of NM."
3 map's of the same level shown describing aswell as showing you about the directors new tools focusing on route planning and how the director can change the route you have to go depending on how well you are doing
New survivor profiles:
Rochelle, 26 (black girl in red shirt): Voiced by Rochelle Aytes (White Chicks, Madea's Family Reunion). A would-be on-air news personality, Rochelle headed straight to the evactuation centre in Savannah when the outbreak hi, intent on producing her first major breakthrough news segment. She'll be damned is she'll let this zombie apocalypse ruin her big break.
Coach, 39 (big black guy in bright blue/yellow shirt): Voice by Chad Coleman (The Wire). Coach has been out of shape ever since blowing out a knee playing college ball. Teaching health class and serving as defensive coordinator for the local high-school team might not have been the best path to a career coaching pro football, but it was sure bvetter than battling hordes of insane zombies.
Ellis, 21 (white guy in green/yellowish top with green cap): Voiced by Eric Ladin (Generation Kill). Ellis never wanted to be anywhere but Savannah. where else could a man whoe barely finished high school find happiness working on cars for a living? He see's everything as a dare and his enthusiasm and youthfull sense of immortality keeps him high on life even as the world crumbles around him.
Nick, 35'ish (white guy in white suit and blue shirt): Voiced by Hugh Dillon (Flashpoint). Nick never stayed anywhere long - not back home in the midwest, not in the joint and certanly not here. there's no violence on his rap sheet just sme small time stuff from swindling tourists on the gambling cruises. Nothing big. he'd figured it would be easier to get out of town than this.
-end of L4D 2 part-
Ghostbusters (looking forward to this aswell as Batman: Arkham Asylum)
hmm this was in the PC Gamer this month on the first page regarding Ghostbusters.
"it will arrive on consoles later in the year but no firm plans for a PC release in the UK what is odd about this is thatit's going to be released in the US as normal. on all platforms including PC, at the same time, in mid-june"
