I role-play a pirate radio station on Discovery. I noticed that without a script, my broadcasts can be of varying quality. My first broadcast was very well done. My latest...well...I had to use subspace radio jamming as a role-play reason to end it early. Clearly I need to type out a script on microsoft word before actually broadcasting it into New York chat. (What, you think a Lane Hacker would even use a pen and paper to write something out?)
Creative writing was not my strong point when I was at school, so I never paid attention to that portion of English class. Oh sure, I can do it now that I have grown up, but my opportunities for free creative writing lessons has passed. Anyone got any pointers for creative writing, especially tips related to writing a radio script?
I dont know your pain, my broadcasts as a Xeno were always totally winged. But I do suggest using repeating phrases to heighten effect. And try not to start out too terribly strong, building momentum as you go along, this captures people better than something bland, or you yelling at them right off the bat.
Good luck and well wishes!
