So, basically, you have a Pirate IDed Mafic, and a Smuggler IDed Train, for instance. They are both wearing the same nametag: [Spunk].
They were flying somewhere, and the Mafic pilot decided to grab an opportunity and pirate some unlucky miner/trader/whateverer they ran into.
Now, the SmugglerIDed Train doesn't engage, and in fact, places itself about 3-5K away from the scene, and waits for it's "escort" to continue.
Now, at this moment, trader either pays and goes on his merry way, or doesn't and gets shot at by our Mafic Pirate. In which case, Smuggler may or may not collect the cargo, depending on the worth of it, as well as free space in our Smuggler IDed Train.
Is this scenario in conflict with server rules in any way?
I would really like if one of the Admins could post some official statement about it.
Sounds like perfectly legitimate RP to me. What's the issue here? The smuggler did not participate in the piracy, nor did he fire on anyone.
Junkers are not allowed to pirate in Liberty Space, but the Rogues have used Junkers frequently to collect cargo after blowing up a non-compliant transport. As long as they aren't standing right beside the event, they're not involved in any way, it's fine.
It is ok RP,but the distance should be a little more,or someone can screen you,and claim the transport was involved to. That is how junker's do it,and do not get labeled as assisting the pirate's. Out of site, out of mind.

I'm curious about why that paticular term was used as the tag.
No but if a ship is close,and/or in group during a pirate attack? He is considered to also be pirating, and many have been sanctioned for it(especially in cap's) because of the threat factor. That why a rogue can pirate someone, and THEN call in a junker to pick up cargo. If junker is sitting with the rogue in NY,on the disrupted trade lane? well he is partaking in the said piracy, and can be sanctioned for pirating is house space.
Spunk? No reason at all... I wanted first to make it a [test] but this just crossed my mind at the moment...
And, those closeness things are what bothers me. How close is too much. I once saw a smuggler and an outcast in Liberty, pirating together... smuggler actually shot at my Shire.. he was flying a gull, so it didn't end well, really...
but still, in spirit, I can see it done, and really don't think it should be a problem... in practice, what do the rules say about it?
