So, being quite a bit behind the times, and lacking funding for certain endeavors, I finally got around to buying a PS3 and will be picking up a copy of Gran Turismo 5 in a day or so.
Now, I played Gran Turismo 4 about 30+ hours a week for the first 4 years religiously and have heard nothing but good things about GT5.
So I'm wondering if anyone else has tried this, does race online or against the AI, and what they're experiences are?
I was a fanatic Gran Turismo 4 player. The kind that used a Logitech FFB wheel and used customised gear ratios for different tracks.
I played GT5 in a friend's house (I abandoned console gaming) for a good 3 hours (with my old wheel of course). Result: A resounding "Meh, it took them 6 years for this?"
The menu system is a disgrace (even more so than older titles), the driving dynamics are not that interesting and the AI is mediocre.
Its a good game if you like Gran Turismo and driving in general.
I personnally enjoy it a lot and find the physics to be a huge step forward from GT4 understeer hell.
The AI though is as dumb as ever.
And it still is on a ruberband, tried many times to PIT the AI w/o success, only to get myself pitted many times during some races (Like the NASCAR ones)
