Today something odd happened to me. As I was fighting in Frankfurt, both me and the pilot I was fighting got killed. We both launched mines at the same time, but got killed by his mine. How would you interpreted that at the light of the rules?
To be on the safe side I decided to avoid both the area and the pilot altogether. He seemed to ignore what happened and right after was roaming Frankfurt again. I grant him killing me, since it was his mine that finished things. I was just curious of how would you interpret it.

Personally I would say your both dead you both should leave Frankfurt and avoid each other. Just as you did. The other guy should leave Frankfurt too IMHO and find another area to continue gaming.
' Wrote:anyway - just want to add - * no you are NOT dead when you run away! - we might wanne get away from that thought. when you DIE. you leave the system and you ll better avoid the guy that killed you, even if he goes to another system.
when you RETREAT however, you can well wait for your attacker in the next system, possibly with backup that time and you can engage him in this OTHER system - activly, not only in self defense. *
so, running away is not dieing - what d be the point of running then.

5.8 If a player engages cruise engine or docks during a PvP fight, this player is considered fleeing. The fleeing player must not enter the system where the fight took place with any of the characters on his/her account(s) while the enemy (player or players involved in the fight) remains in the system, but no more than 4 hours.
However, the fleeing player can re-engage at will if chased.
( not only can you come back to the system once the attacker left the system, but you can, if he follows you to the other system even re-engage him )
as opposed to
5.10 A player who was killed in a PvP fight must not re-engage the enemy (player or players involved in the death) with any of the characters on his/her account(s) for 4 hours.
( or other, you re dead, don t mess with the attacker in any way again for 4 hours )
Sorry, Jinx.
You are absolutely right. If your attacker is giving chase you may turn around and give him Boot. Yet if this player is not giving chase you do have to (More or less) Follow the Death rules.
I mean if you engage a target (Both players fire shots) then run you can not come back seconds later with an army if that Target didn't give chase..
But yes Jinx, my apologies.. I got it wrong
Thanks for cleaning that up.
___ New Avatar.. Needs a Bit of cleaning (Damn, I forgot the transparent Background again) The Crateria is Unhappy. From now on if you think you can carry on trading after you've faced Death you SHALL Face him again, and again until it Sinks in! Come on, Traders need to Follow the 4 Hours Cool down after death.. So your dead, Whats that? Your going to get me with a Big Bad Cruiser? As long as it is NOT piloted by yourself let it come...

Actually you have no other choice. With both ships on cruise speed, it's a perfect stalemate.
When I was asked 2m for passage yesterday, I tried to sneak away since I was outgunned. The guy didn't let loose and after a couple of minutes I stopped, let him blow me up and be done with it. That's certainly not as RP as one would like it to be, but the RP attempt at a clean getaway didn't work.
