sorry for the delay, but other things drew mein attention. Anyway, below you will find
the information you wanted about Fallen Grace:
Quote:Information reached 141 about less than one week before Fallen Grace was set
into motion. Right then, we got to know that our contact within Gallia had
evidence of a Gallic Navy officer being infested by nomads. Upon request for
more information, we got to know that the Colonial Republic was informed about
this situation as well, so we initiated talks with representatives of the Republic.
The information which was revealed to us can be summed up to this:
Nomads were able to infect some of the lesser Gallic Navy ranks at the start.
We assume this was the result of an increasing nomad activity within the Tau sector
Infestation of the Gallic Navy grew silently over time and has reached the
highest ranks, even those in direct proximity to the King of Gallia. Maybe the
King has been infected as well, but there was no solid proof for this
Director of the Navy Intelligence ONI, Lelouch D’Aramis, set up a plan in
motion to free Gallia from the nomad infestation and contacted the Colonial
Republic for his own reasons
As you already have had contact with Cerberus, I don’t have to tell you what it
means when a military like the Gallic Royal Navy is heavily influenced by
nomads. It would let the first nomad war look like ein little border fight 20 years ago.
A plan was set up to perform a surgical strike against the nomad infected
elements within Gallia and the king himself, as to our calculation was deemed
more successful than a long term fight a series of battles.
The set up of forces were as follows:
Colonial cruiser Daedalus and battleship Souvereign would sneak into Gallia
while ONI director D’Aramis would change the patrol routes for the Gallic Navy
accordingly. Colonial Battleship Artemis was set up to cover the retreat of Fallen
Grace forces. Marine battalion was assigned to Artemis and Daedalus. All of the
capital ships were supported by fighters
D’Aramis forces consisted of his flagship Eglantine and ONI agents loyal to
him. The exact strength of his forces has not been discovered to full extent, so
we can only make a rough guess here
Taskforce One Four One assigned an X-Shuttle with a marine platoon and a
mixed wing of fighters and bombers. Our task was to assist the Colonial Military
in combat, identify infected humans and gather more information about the
infestation within the Gallic Royal Navy.
In order to successfully assassinate the king, our combined forces agreed on a
rough strategy, lure the main defense fleet in Isle de France away while our main
battle group jumps into Isle de France and directly attack the king’s court:
A small freighter of D’Aramis agents send out a fake emergency signal about a
Council fleet in Orleanais.
Meanwhile fighters and bombers lure the Chant du Cygne out of Isle de France,
disabling the ship as it formed the backbone of Isle de France’s defense fleet.
As soon as both points were done, the Souvereign would jump into Isle de
France, using is jumpdrive to get as close to New Paris as possible to deploy its
fighters and marine assets before the Gallic Royal Navy could repel the attack properly
Meanwhile Eglantine would engage the Navy forces in Isle de France as well
and attract as much attention as possible while the colonial marines would land
and assault Isle du Palais and kill the king.
That was more or less the plan of Fallen Grace which we could not fully
accomplish as you already know. From what we could prove so far, we were able
to kill at least 83 infected Gallic officers, both in space and in battles aboard the
Chant Du Cygne and Isle du Palais with more casualties among the regular Navy forces.
Battleships Chant du Cygne, Embrun and Montiuel were crippled during the
fighting on the Gallic side, but our forces suffered severe losses as well.
141| suffered a total loss of 35% declared dead, another 25% wounded, which
along the rest of our contingent being able to retreat with the help of the Colonial Military.
The latter ones had to suffer similar losses, especially among its ground troops,
Souvereign being severely damage during its dangerous maneuver with jumping
right into New Paris’ atmosphere. Eglantine under command of D’Aramis was
almost destroyed; his whereabouts were unknown to us until we met the ship in
Liberty again. Quite surprising that he managed to still keep it running.
Nun, I think that would be all. If you have any questions unanswered, let me
know, but please remember, we will not hand out any information about our contacts within Gallia.
Furthermore, I might not be able to answer your message within the next few days. So have patience.
Merci beacoup les informations about the events, et I appreciate your cooperation. Free passage through Roussillon has been granted to Task Force 141. However, albeit your report is quite thorough, it left some questions unanswered.
What I found no answer to is how all of the assaulting forces were able to pass through the border defenses of Gallia. Monsieur D'Aramis may have been able to alter patrol routes to a degree, however I doubt he would been able to do so to such scale as to grant the Colonial warships free entrance without getting highly suspicious for it.
Another thing is that you described the strike force of Task Force 141 consisting of a X11 Deep Space Shuttle for troop transport and several snubcraft as escort. As far as I know, the whole Order bases their operations out of the Omicrons, which are quite far from Gallia. While, by my knowledge, the X-Shuttle is capable to house a good amount of personnel during longer journeys in space, I wonder if your fighters et bombers can do the same. I hope you can answer me how you got into Gallia.
May some of my queries require the revelation of your contacts to be answered properly, feel free to deny the answer with the explanation that it is indeed the case. As I previously said, I do not wish you to break a previous contract in order to answer my questions.
Sincerement,
Colonel Pierre LaFlamme Du Conseil
Chef de Groupement tactique Roussillonnaise
regarding entrance point into Gallia, at least 141 used the Lorraine jumphole within
Omicron 80 as the guarding of it was weaker then in Orkney. Especially after Languedoc
was overrolled by the Gallic Royal Navy.
About how the Colonial battleships got into Gallia, I can only make assumptions.
Souvereign might have used its jumpdrive to sneak into Gallia. I am not able to
tell you how the other capitals were able to do so, because I lack this information.
And about your second question on 141's logistic behind the long journey...
Before entering Gallia we were able to refill our supplies at some stations we have
friendly terms with.
When it comes to anyting related within Gallia, I have to deny you any information
as you already guessed it refers to our contacts.
