So here I has, bored as all hell with the disco server down, wondering what the hell I would do tonight. Sure, I could study but I am a bit lethargic now after spending the larger part of the afternoon rushing to hand in a uni report.. So yea, there I was..
Then BAM it hit me! A game which I haven't played in ages (about 3 years I think), stupidly simple but fun as.. Well, fun stuff - Subspace/Continuum. So I did a quick search on google, rocked up to their site, downloaded the game that can (or could - not sure about the newer versions) run on a mere 486 and dailup, and - here's the amasing part - somehow managed to get into my old account and fool around (Thank god for that.. Otherwise I would've had to play under a name other that Encheta. *Gasp*).
Like I said, the game's simple - a top-down online space shoot 'em. You have a ship. You fly around in said ship and shoot other player's that are also flying ships. When they go asplody you get points and have lulz. Mindless fun for the mindless and not-so-mindless alike.
While I appear to be the first one to post a thread for Subspace, one member has actually talked/suggested the game a few times previously..
You used to play on the SSCU Extreme Games server didn't you Caribe? I think I remember you.... If you're the person I'm thinking of, you killed me a lot when I wasn't on your team...
..Anyways, what was I wanting to - Oh yea, Come and play peoples! I usually play on the three most populated servers there - In order of preference; Extreme Games, Death Star Battle and Trench Wars. You'll know who I am when you see me.
EDIT: Oh, yeah, back to the main topic. I tried that game before, but couldn't get the hang of things. I guess it was a bit too simplistic, and complicated at the same time for me.

Waaaahh don't tempt me/them/thingy. Resist! Must resist!
:P
About your edit - yeah, I think I get what you mean. If you use most of the keyboard shortcuts in disco though - weapons groupings, requesting trade using the key instead of the screen button, barrel roll hehe.. - You should be alright pretty quickly.
The thing I HATE about Dark Orbit, is that there are "Premium" users, who pay to get iridium (The games "Premium" currency) and just base camp with the best ships.
