Lo, I'm flying around in my pretty new battleship when the server starts lagging rather badly (A ton of us hasd lost connection a few minutes earlier), and I was unable to dock with Rochester base (Serious Tag/ID crisis. Nightfall's going to kill me). The last time this happened the server crashed, so, being the sensible (somewhere under there, I AM sensible) nutjob I am, F1ed and waited a few minutes. Lo, I discovered I was unable to connect to the forums. Praying, I reconnected to the Global server and jumped on, only to crash to the desktop. The next time, some three minutes later, I was able to connect to the server, but all of my Characters were gone (god, I hope they're not lost; that thing was expensive).
SO!
I can't tell what it is. It seems like it's my connection's fault, but I draw a complete blank with the disappearing act. My question is:
Whodunit, and Who do I Sue?

The two chars on that account are both there and Fantasia is docked on Manhattan... pick up a Neutral ID while you're there.
If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God? - from 'Nightfall' by I. Asimov The Outcasts consider Siniestre Nube a sacred place for several reasons. Early explorers discovered a jumphole within the depths of the cloud that leads to a strange world of ringed stars and strange craft. All ships in the burrial ground are placed facing that hole to honor the Alien Spirits. - An Outcast rumor
I'd imagined it was my connection (my other machine was dead, too) but why I was even able to connect to the Global Server and not any browser is still a mystery... These library computers are slow as sin. [/whine]

Yes, I'm fairly sure it was my connection, and it looks like Denelo was right about the PvP server mishap, but I've also discovered something more interesting-I can now log on to the server and load my characters, but I exist as a nonentity. I can move about, but I can't interact, IE docking with JG, TL, and Dockrings/mooring fixtures, my Razors don't damage anything, my missiles don't launch when I fire them (though I still get energy drain and hear the sound effect), and I can't send chat messages. It seems that somehow I'm recieveing data but not sending any. So here I am, typing this out at the library because I'm desperately lonely and feel the need to spam, with my mom at home on hold with Comcast.

Nah, no need. I figured it out. It wasn't Comcast, this time, it was a combination of AOL and my new router. AOL is like an immunodefficient virus.; it attacks the other browser, and was screwing with my IP; the new router apparently added a new stage for enough scrambling to annihalate it completely. AOL has been deleted (I'd switched to Gmail months ago), and now I can fix my BS so Nightfall doesn't kill me.
