I start to like this idea.

Putting Capital Armour on Transport Just because i have enough cargo is Stupid IMO too now i You wanna have Whale with CAP VIII You loosing 300 cargo big deal.. with this solution you gonna loose 2000.. If you'll be able to Mount it...
Haloo Anybody Eve Read That or You guys just gonna put random comments ??
Putting capital armorupgrades on fighters looks a bit silly, but you could do it since its about percentage and not cargo space.
I'm not sure how could you script it. I mean to not allow fighters with capital armor ugrades, because it would look pretty silly, wouldn't it?

Yeah because there's a difference between shields in vanilla. LF, HF and freighter shield.
Capship guns can only be made coz fighters can only mount turrets up to class 5.
but an armor upgrade is like a battleship license/scanner. You can mount a BS license on a fighter.
Some things maybe sound easy (like when you want to purchase a bomber and the white line says "Very Heavy Fighter, but you cant rename it to bomber. Same goes for the idea about guns with bullets, coz its limited to 200) but cannot be implemented.

If you know a way, then go for it.
No i dont Know The Way....It's just and IDEA... I dont Know mechanics of the game and is up to developers to make an opinion about it...
But You can Always as a last sesort do a server rule for that ...
If Somebody gonna be Stupid Enough to Put almost billion credits in Starfier just to get sanctioned for that right away and loose it..... Let him Waste o Money....
Why should we add even more rules for what is already doing just fine? Or, to put it simple: Why Fix what is not broken?
Also, Some ships get a re-balanced Cargo hold so they can't use any Armors Larger than Mark. X (Check Bottlenose for example, It can only mount up to Cap4, only because it would be seriously overpowered with a Cap8) And As far as I know, there is no way to limit and/or separate Armor Classes for different Ships. Introduce a Way to make it possible, and the Balance Team will most probably like your idea... But again, Why fix what is not broken?
i have always thought that armour upgrades should take increasing amounts of space... a starflea shouldnt be able to load a faighter AU8, and a firefly shouldnt be able to load a cap8.
instead of %, how about double the cargo they take up?
alternatively, add more AU, that give more hull, but take up all of a fighters cargo space, and 1500 of a transport/cap ship... that way, no bombers/spatials running around with cap armour
When you figure out how to dynamically determine cargo requirements, we'll father your children.
We've been trying to find ways to do that for quite some time (the dynamic/ship-based cargo requirements, not the fathering of your children) and as of yet haven't had any luck. If we could do that, we could have greatly increased control of the trade system, and with a few of the ideas Sprolf had, pretty much make every last trade faction's RP cargo a viable means for profit.
So yeah. If we could do this, we could do all kinds of other wonderful things... but we can't.
