As I've seen no thread about it.. Although there probably is one, because I'm blind when it comes to make double threads..
Anyways, I picked this up yesterday because I've heard good things.. And I recently stopped playing WoW because I hate the grind. I hate the grind so much.
LotRO uses the same interface and gameplay as WoW (Almost) so it's really easy to figure things out.
The game looks pretty good.
I wish I could say I'm enjoying it, but I'm only level 7 at the moment, and there still seems to be a bit of a grind.. Although, less so, because getting XP from monsters isn't as easy as in WoW. On WoW I got to level 11 off of the intro/tutorial by mostly killing.. In this? I got out of the intro as a level 5. Questing gets you most of your XP, unfortunately quests like "Kill X amount of X, and collect X amount of X from them."
For example.. Bears, and bear pelts.. Why, oh why, do only a few bears of the dozen you kill have pelts?
I've also discovered Bears like Hobbits as much as honey.
Not quite.
I've only ever seen that happen on crappy free MMOs.
So far I've had a blast on this one. People are friendly and helpful, and there's quite a bit of RP that goes on.
Minimum requirements for a video card are a 64 MB NVIDIA GeForce 3, orrr An ATI Radeon 8500.
I use an ATI Radeon X1650 Pro. I got 4 gigs of RAM, dual core 1.8 ghz processor and I run this game on ultra high no problem.
It's apparently not too bad on less powerful machines, but I've only heard that from various sites.
This is more of a PvE game.
TONS of RP. I see roleplayers EVERYWHERE.
For the PvP.. There's a PvMP mode or something, when at level 40 players can take the form of monsters and fight other players? I dunno. I was never big into PvP and never really looked into that portion of the game.
