I don't know all that much about weapon speeds, but, excellent guide, and brilliant organization.

My brother somehow found the need to buy the FL Strategy Guide. I was telling to use DataStorm instead, and that all the info would be wrong anyways because of Disco, but he went and bought it anyways.
So, I flipped through it, and saw this little thing on guns:
(ROF = Rate of Fire)
Laser - High ROF, lower damage
Neutron - Lower energy consumption, shorter range
Particle - High damage, high energy consumption
Plasma - High damage, slow ROF
Photon - High ROF, high damage, extremely high energy consumption
Pulse - High damage vs. shields, low damage vs. hull
Tachyon - Longer range, high energy consuption
Now, I dunno whether it's still true - accurate to Discovery.. nor do I know how to check. Can anyone verify this?
That data is still accurate. All Disco does is add guns and stuff like ships, systems, etc. Doesn't mess with the underlying stuff like that.

Oh and Datastorm DOES work with Discovery.

Yup, Disco adds new ships, systems and weapons. I don't think they have altered the way the weapons work from vanilla version.
