Alright, just wondering if anyone else has picked this game up, and if so do you need a guild?
I'm in a great guild right now called itsOver ( http://www.iogaming.net/ ) and anyone that wants to can join us. We all try to help eachother out whenever it's needed.
We play on the Deathwhisper PvP server.
For those who haven't heard of it, it's a game made by Funcom (Anarchy Online, anyone?), this time around they've drastically improved everything. The launch went pretty well, there's plenty of servers, great quests, great pvp, great guild options, great gameplay.
One of my favourite things is the combos and fatalities... Instead of the usual boring combat where you click and wait, this one has you do combinations of attacks, 1 2 or 3 (1 being upper right, 2 being overhand swing, 3 being upper left) allowing you to target your enemies weak points. You have "shields" you can allocate to your sides or forward to defend against attack. When preforming a succesful combo attack you have a chance to do a "fatality" which is an instant kill and looks really awesome. You either behead them, slice their necks open, burn their flesh off, chop off their limbs.. etc etc.
Highest settings require a computer similar to Crysis highest settings.
Of course it doesn't mean that you can't play if you can't play crysis on the lowest settings, there are different scales.
You'd need a mid-high power computer to play it comfortably I'd say from what I've heard in reviews etc.
This game looks fantastic. Less cartoony than WoW, more mature than Guild Wars and with so much more to do. Really does seem like a brilliant MMO, one that I'd be easily willing to pay money for.
(Reminds me of EVE compared to Freelancer, except better..)
I plan to pick it up as soon as my exams are over. I have a bad feeling that if I were to get it before the end of them, I'd end up failing them all >.<
Yeah, it does take some pretty steep requirements. But with some tweaking of the settings, you can get it to run pretty good on a not so new computer.
Linkus, when you do get it, lemme know. If you decide to join us on Deathwhisper we'd be able to help you out quite a bit.:)
The big problem with the server we chose is a guild named Hordes of Goonheim, a guild spread out across many MMOs where the members pay to be a part of the guild. They're big into griefing, so I'm just waiting for the wars to begin.
