I was also thinking about the period "shortly" after Sekigahara, in which (year 1603) Tokugawa Shogunate was established, putting nail onto Emperor's free will, making not Emperor but Shogun the main figure of the, well, Japanese Feudal Empire.
I'm also divinded between Modern Japan and WW2 Japan homages, because Kishiro right now acts more like zaibatsu, rather than keiretsu - being the main supplier of military equipment for now AND the little fact that it backs the current government pretty strongly (while keiretsu rather works independently and does not influence government).
