One of the things that came out of the Lib-Rheinland end of the war thread is that a lot of people seem afraid their turtles will become useless.
What we can do is move the battleground somewhere else that still allows us to carry on with the story.
The proposal here is to move the Liberty - Rheinland conflict to the Sigmas instead of Texas/Hamburg. Before you wonder why the hell this would happen, read the following.
In 4.87 final, a LOT of the buffer systems are getting removed and some new paths are also getting created. For instance, Ellesmere is getting completely redesigned and turned into a Sigmas system (who liked this system anyway). So instead of getting sent to the Omicrons directly, the LN players will have to go through the Sigmas.
There has been some discussions about opening up the Sigmas and upper Omicrons to RM a few days ago and I think this could be a perfect way to keep this Liberty-Rheinland conflict alive for those that like it while we could re-establish the trade between the two houses, thus re-enabling the Tri/Quad House trade runs.
This way, the story moves forward and we keep that Liberty-Rheinland battleground open for those that want it (publicly disavowed battles). With this activity in mind, this would cause the GMG to become more active to defend their H-Fuel clouds in the region and we could add Kusari as a cherry. There's also no doubt the Corsairs, OCs and Order wouldn't join the party.
All of this would create a big activity hub in the Sigmas and Upper Omicrons (lots of things happening there by the way).
With the shrinking of the universe, the diversity of the battlegrounds and the carrier update to spend less time travelling instead of fighting/roleplaying, I honestly believe we're on a good way to fix things and make the game more enjoyable. However, as always we can't know for sure if you don't voice your input on these matters. So now's the time, let us know !
