I have stayed out of this thread thus far, but since I feel like I shouldn't go to bed without trying to pour some water on the inferno, here's some clarity for you all:
100,000,000 credits is the maximum fee, for large corporations that (both iRP and ooRP) are going to make lots and lots of deliveries. For an individual shipper, it will (or would?) be much, much lower.
One 5k load of scrap will make you roughly 69,000,000 credits. This means that large groups are being set back less than two transports' worth of money - in exchange for not only accessing THE most profitable sell point without being hounded by Gallic authorities, but gaining the protection of Gallic lawfuls while making said deliveries.
Let's be real here: the only honest reason that there's so many tears being shed already is not that a Gallic lawful sell point was added - it's that everyone who previously had almost-open access to THE most profitable sell point now can't get it any more without - God forbid - actually roleplaying. Lawful factions charging for permits is nothing new - has anyone looked at the rates Liberty charges for building and maintaining PoBs?
Telling me that 'it doesn't fit our roleplay' is total bogus. Registration is not going anywhere. I don't know if you've noticed, but Gallia isn't exactly short on enemies. Hundreds of thousands of tons of assorted metal bits and bobs being shipped directly to one of Gallia's biggest shipyards, and you're telling me it's against Gallic roleplay to regulate those who are allowed to make such deliveries? In that case, I thank you for your 'concern' that we're roleplaying our House ineffectively, and you can rest assured that we've taken your criticism with the sincerity it deserves.
Then again, I suppose this is a natural reaction to the Premium Scrap monopoly suddenly being grossly, grossly upset. Oh well.
As many others have pointed out, there are a multitude of other sell points available for potential PScrap traders to peruse. I invite anyone and everyone to feel free to take advantage of them. Of course, you will make less money per unit time invested - assuming that's your primary concern.
Which of course, it isn't, since we are a roleplay-focused server here.
