Four more changes:
- Ship list has been updated once again, this time the required points have been spread out (multiplied by 5) to facilitate balancing. As the pioneering adjustment, the requirements for the Starblazer has been brought down to allow members who demonstrate excellence during recruitment to start with a slightly better ship.
- The golden rule in the code of conduct has been slightly changed. It now explicitly says that the behavioural server rules apply both in and out of game and that factional consequences for breaking rules are to be expected whether the member is actually sanctioned or not.
- Since there have been no negative feedback naming scheme put forth by NegligentBeast, I'm updating the section accordingly. Security ships will use DSE)Pilot.Name as callsign, STR ships will use DSE)Constellation.Name as callsign, and Engineering/Freight/Mining ships will use DSE)Mountain.Name as callsign. As an addendum to this scheme, all ships of Apprentice rank will use DSE)Pilot.Name regardless of department.
- Named ranks have been given a minimum number of required commendation points.
' Wrote:It's 817 AS now, not 818 AS. Otherwise, looks good.
It was great to read this whole thread, as well as joining you guys.
All I can say is I confirm this faction is a group of friendly people.
It's nice to fly with you and I hope it is just a beginning of many hours of playing together.
Cheers!

My ability to contribute here is somewhat limited, except that everything looks great so far and I can spot no glaring errors. I agree this is even better an idea than Duchess Shipping was and the transition seems to have played out nicely.
DSE/Ageira coalition is a very important factor considering the infrastructure of central Sirius systems. Disco has a lot of use for DSE, and players concentrating on this RP rather than the usual cops and robbers.
I'm sure other people here have the same thing to say, but on my behalf, let it be known for the admin team Eyvind is one of the reasons I enjoy and keep playing Disco. I think he singlehandedly ups the average RP quality of the server by a considerable amount, and this faction request is simply a continuation to this legacy.
Update to the faction creation proposal:
- Formatting changed (improved, hopefully)
- Added Ames Research Station to the list of bases
- Added Initiate and Craftsman ranks
- Fixed inconsistencies in the Organization section
- Member listing reorganized and expanded somewhat
- Updated ship list
- Added a brief description of the commendation system
The big change is the way ship allowances are determined. Instead of basing them on commendation points directly, they are based on the named ranks which in turn are based on commendation points. This new system is still a work-in-progress that we are continuously balancing as members ascend through the ranks. To help us do this, members must consult with NegligentBeast or myself before buying new ships.

I propose the DSE slogan to be "DSE. Connecting People"
(any connections to well known mobile phones producer are made highly on purpose;))
"Connecting people" is a very suiting slogan, and a modicum of irony is always nice to lighten the mood.
I used to have a two-manned repairship stationed i Freistadt, repairing the lanesin Omega 7, always swearing at Corsairs for shooting them up. Good times. Two thumbs up here.
Well, I've RP'd with several DSE) players and have invited them to join our events. Be strict on your members about the // chat in the system (you'll find yourself repeating the same mantra almost each time you have a new recruit). All in all my experiences with DSE) have been great and I support our request. I'm sure I'll see some of you in space again.

There is nothing I am more strict about. If I see a member do it, they are not far from pain.
