' Wrote:Read the rules again. You can't fire on transport if you haven't provided sufficent rp. Yet damand can be made later.
Interesting.
i read the rules before and got told one thing, got told something else by people who pirate all-the-time, now this, i'm gonna read it all again. just to be safe.
' Wrote:I was also shocked by the fact that you can aperantly shoot around, Ram(fighters/bombers) and taunt people into a fight even if they are just there to RP, as long as you don't kill them.
You sir have much win in you. But funny thing is when doing that, usually those that taunt, die.
Anyway, back on topic, yes I do believe that if one is in a war with the faction who's trader he stops, it is perfectly In RP to kill said trader. I mean it is just stupid to rob him of his cargo and then say "Thank you honorable person, we are at war but there is no reason why I shouldn't let you escape to your brethren, tell them this story and then hunt my people 1 hour later."
I just believe that it is perfectly In RP to kill said trader when you see him. As Espi said, you call a transport to pick up the cargo if it is valuable, if not, then tough luck, the trader is still dead. Makes perfect sense to me, dunno.
' Wrote:And for that scenario above, I think the corsairs have a bounty board which includes a generic bounty on Hessians. Get the Hessians to do that vice-versa and you should be fine no matter which side you are on.
Shipping companies - civilians. Not military targets.
Corsairs in general - each of them are potencial fighter. Also corsair house is not divided into shipping companies and such. I guess it has it's meanings.
Bounty boards are generaly for mercinaries, getting paid for what you have to do want it or not is nonsense.
The point is, to do whatever is right in Roleplay, if you Corsair character sees an Outcast Transport, for example. He would think "Blasted Outcast scum!" and head over to blow it up.
He isn't pirating the transport, he's killing a member of the nation he is at war with which should be totally acceptable within the rules.
I think you're over analysing the rules here, they aren't supposed to be a rock solid wall to get in the way of roleplay, which is how I think most people view them.
Alright I'll qoute it the impotant lines from rule explanation series:
Quote: As additional clarification, Joe and Pablo are not required to immediately make their demands. They are required to RP with Larry. And once they've RP'd with Larry, they then CAN shoot him. But under Rule 6.6, they are forbidden to actually destroy Larry if they have not actually made any demands.
So yes. I can take down your hull to one bar... and only then make a damand. Prior I provided sufficient rp before the attack. Anyway this doesn't touch the topic itself. Hopefully then it's cleared out people will get back on the true meaning of the thread.
6.6 Aggressors are not allowed to destroy a trade vessel prior to issuing a demand and allowing sufficient time to respond. Demands may be cargo, credits or an RP demand, such as leaving the system. "Halt" is not a demand.
In short for me that mean, you can't pewpew hessian transport with corsair just because you corsair and he is hessian.
You can ask him to drop everything, ask him to leave this system, ask him something that he can actually do without being completely pissed off (demand 100 millions) (0.0) And then, if he is not going to accept your demand you can pewpew.
Any transport is a non-military target that can't protect itself from even a lone fighter without mentioning about bombers. And actually you can't see it's ID (In RP), so how you can know that it's a hessian pirate transport, not junker one?

Destroy. Ship with 1 bar of hull is not destroyed. Yet pirates always must take in account that trader migh be hostile to npc's around and do not take uneccesery risk. Since, if outcome is desturction, pirates will be the ones to blame. Anyway can we stay on topic please?
Any more opinions.
This far main argument was possible pvp abuse. Yet, this open hostility do not includes shipping / mining companies
Yes, the agressor does not have to demand credits or cargo. The Hessian could as well demand 'Praise the Red Hessian Army Corsair!' or something along those lines, which is pretty much the same as a death sentence.
The PvP rules regarding piracy however still apply, and thats what the original question was about. I agree however, that is doesn't always make sense in RP.
