Honestly, it's all, just not practical. And as is suggested above, getting notebook/netbook can get seriously cheaper and much better and functional.
Personal opinion: If you don't have it already, do not buy it. If you buy it, be prepared for regrets.
I buy things I don't want to make an impression on people I don't like.
i would like to know why you all say bad things about it, yet revieews by people who actually have them.. not only say the bad things, but also say so many good things..
if i were to get one it would litterally just be a random gadget to screw around with when bored. Netbooks i find rather annoying.. plus i kinda like the idea of a tablet..
Does anyone know of a tablet based Pc of some description which is better then ?

Really, all the "reviews" are most likely PAID by Apple.... There is noone bu women who will find this "portable" enough. As they have purses/bags to put it in... its nowere as handy as steve jobs and his lackeys want it to be, and despite its rather clean and stylish exterior, the interior hardware is by far not keeping up.... ONLY "hi tech" is the size, sense and reliability of the touch screen, BUT heres the catch.... APPLE USES HEAT SENSITIVE SCREENS... so, since i know your in a rather low tempered country, let me explain what that means....
you take a bottle of coke from the fridge, and hold it 10 seconds.... That is all you need to make the touch screen go "wut" and laggy/slow responding..... if your fingers are cold, forget it. You aint gonna be using it for other then fueling your rage.
The tech support and service are horrible, from what ive heard, they need to be deported back to canada/usa for repairs, unless its plausible to just swap the battery/"unimportant" cards.
The software is mediocre, the virtual support is worse then your average Gameboy Advanced, actually, the GBA would prob run better on the internet then the ipad.
Whatching things on it, like movies and such is tiresome. The rendering software is not really something to shout "horray" for, and is more often then not, just stretching/blowing up the picture crudely then actually doing a good rescaling of it....
This could be fixed by codec packs, which you cant put into it.
The wifi, has short range, and is not too friendly with the network types, Europe uses a different type of wifi net then US, dunno bout US, but the EU standards are NOT really fun surfing with.... my friends ipad was dropping out atleast 3 times in 15 minutes, sitting in his living room, 5m from the wifi router (pc's, my cellphone, his iphone, all RAPE the ipads wifi functions when it comes to reliability)
The cost is just ridiculous compared to its use.... your basically paying 900$ for a "hi"-tech newspaper and bookreading device.... As always, with macs, the system (not like its anything to boast about concidering its complete lack of "outside" support, like Java, Flash and GIF/PNG rendering) is stable....
Ipad is one of those things, that are made just beause you can add another thing to a cool and popular device series (read: "i" phone, pod).... In terms of the millions spendt on developing it, id say the would be better spendt on making new and better ipods/phones or fix the iphone systems and compability....
I guess, Steve Jobs just had some millions to waste, and no Ranseurs to buy.

It wouldn't be that bad, if it was cheaper, but considering the prices, it's too impractical and lack variety of functions. I would say that it's "good" (Or so the official rewievs say) only because it's the -fashion- now. You don't have it, you are oh-so outsiderish. And no doubts, the prices are so ridiculous because of the fashion as well.

right.. so to have a "proper equivilant" in terms of a touchscreen laptop costs more.. but has so much more...
With reguards tosiddious's statments with the touchscreen and finger tempreture.. i have never had poblems with the iPhone... the rest of your argument is based on.. "heard" only one source you were talking about was "first hand"..
i'd also like to say that if you have a fully contracted iPhone.. you can stream the internet through that, at the same speed as the Iphone would normally load, which is prtty damn fast for a phone.. in he middle of some fields..
i'll look into this blackberry pad too... but i must say the rest of what blackberry make... i find hiddious.
I hate apple computers, the MAC's are useless, but really, iPhones/pods are a complete win all round..
Seafalcon.. when your brother gets one.. steal it and tell me what you think of it..
I borrowed a 64 gig version that has wifi calls and all that kinda stuff enabled from a friend...
It's awesome.. whereas some features like the bluetooth only work with the iPhone and alike for.. internet tethering ... it's still cool.
The keyboard is.. weird to get used to but is so easy after a small while, I am using it right now to type this... Then again, this is no way to say the pad is good.. seeing as my spelling using a normal keyboard is horrible anyway.
Internet wifi or bluetooth internet through the iPhone is almosy flawless so far. I have a tonne of music on here, simply placeing it in the nice gap in the dashboard of the car brings a large interface touchscreen with a fair ammount of music.. win all round ?
In short, the iPad i think is.. amazing. The price however will stop me from buying one myself.. untill at least.. i can actually afford one..
for lolz:
