Omicrons is actually one of the most populated areas on the server (Apart from Liberty), but the problem out there is, 90% of this population fly Cap Ships, and 90% of those Caps don't really bother with RPing... So, even if you want to RP as an Order Agent, You'll be better off in a Small Ship (An Order IDed Arrow has much much more chance to RP than an Order Guard Geb) Cause if you fly a Cap Ship, every hostile you run into will just go "meh, another Order lolcap. Let's get rid of it fast.", Sadly Same goes for majority of Caps in Omicrons. Fighters of all the factions there get a level of RP that Caps have to try really hard to get even close to.
I suggest you make an Order fighter or Bomber and fly around Minor and Omicrons, and look at how Cap Ships are and how are they treated by both Hostiles and friendlies. You'll see what I mean after a few weeks
P.S: Although, RPing in a Cap Ship around Omicrons is not "impossible", but many will just go trigger-happy when they see an OCV- tagged ship. So you have to put so much effort into your RP to show others you're Not there to simply pew pew. But in a fighter, The hostiles will most likely give you a chance to talk before they open fire - And that's because of how Majority of indie Order Cap Ships have acted in the past.
Birdtalon Wrote:That is not true. You can patrol many of the systems around Minor, as well as the nomad worlds. There are opportunities for conflict and roleplay with Nomads and Bounty Hunters and there will be lots of things to do with the release of .86.
If you are going to post sweeping, untrue statements then post them in flood and not in a Welcome thread where a new player is asking for advice.
In my experience, and what I see every day when a non Order| cap is around, its true.
Everywhere an Order indy cap goes, including omicron minor, you will always find a guy in a fighter complaining about your indy Order cap ship, calling you a lolwhut Order indy, even if he is the one that came to minor attaking people. Remember the falling_lollipop gang?
Not everyone flames you all the time, but there are hardly days where I dont see it. As long as you arent an affiliated Order| person or well known by certain people in the forums, its bound to happen to you sooner or later. Some people will even flame you for being in alaska in an indy Order Nepthys, before you even opened your mouth, whether you're starting fights there or not. Not everyone does it, but its bound to happen to you sooner or later, especially if ur flying an order indy cap. And you cant get into the Order| without being accepted/making friends with those players. So...
Just stating the facts together with a warning... because he asked.
Mysterious_Menace, if you want a cap anyway, here some tips for gaining a bit of acceptance.
Think of a ship name that really fits an Order capital ship and its function. Most Order names are egyptian based. For example "Horus" (egyptian god and son of Isis).
Since you aren't a one seater fighter, you should always give people some idea of what kind of person is speaking from the ship.
Make up a core crew for your ship with names for the people that someone might hear talking on the coms channel. Your crew members can have the ethnic background from any of the houses in freelanvcer, and I like to give each of them noticably different personalities.
For example communications officer Natsuko Kasaki will handle the routine tasks. You may RP her like:
Horus: Natsuko: This is the Order Battlecruiser Horus to unidentified ship. You have entered restricted space and are ordered to turn back. This is your only warning.
In some situations the captain Nelson Bates may come on the coms channel himself:
Horus: Nelson: This is captain Bates of the Order Battlecruiser Horus speaking. Ms Honeycomb, I regret that you have been inconvenienced. What say we discuss this matter over a glass of wine on my ship, ey?
Or you can also put some internal chatter between your crew members on the coms:
Horus: Nelson: She refuses to comply? Give them a full broadside, Wilhelm!
Horus: Gunnery chief Wilhelm Kraut: Jawohl! I'll blow zer guts to kingdom come!
Horus: Natsuko: But... there might be children on board!
Horus: Nelson: War is hell, sweetie. Fire!
That will get your indy cap more accepted than if you dont RP a crew for it, also in other systems.

Thanks for the assist
I really don't wish to bother myself with a detailed explanation of how wrong people are about Capital Ships on the server and how very wrong they are about Order influence and Order zone of operations.
To answer your question in a short and fast manner, your Geb can go anywhere you want it to go, Liberty being the only exception in this rule, yet that is a story for another time, as long as you can RP, you're not trigger happy and you have registered the ship. So, that means that if you really have a reason to be, say in Kusari, with one of our Light Carriers, by all means, enjoy the stay and make sure our relations with the farmers are as good as they should be.
In short, your RP is what matters.
Where you can fly an Order Capital Ship depends on the Order High Command and the Role Play we forge.
