Instantly kill... kinda makes sence to me
If a VHF rammed into a battleship it would be like throwing it into a planet, it would blow up... (off freelancer a bit) Look at the movies like starwars...
one thing is the direction change, that has to be stopped, somehow i wish...
oh and kamakazi LF would be awsome

collision damage is based on speed, not the mass of the object you collide with in Freelancer.
That means fighters would be destroyed by hitting anything, even tiny asteroids.
That would mean Capital Ships would now deliberately ram fighters to kill them.
And what about capital on capital action? What happens when two Capital Ships ram each other?
Yeah, collision damage is also universal.
Don't try to fix what isn't broken. If someone is deliberately ramming you, we have methods for dealing with that. Methods which don't change entire game mechanics and balance of the game just to suit a couple of whiney capital ship pilots complaining about being killed again.
Accidents happen, get over it, try again. It's just a game.

Uh, did you just say Capital pilots complaining about people breaking the rules is whining?
And it is broken, you just don't think so.
I won't even mention the Dev's plan to make sure no rule is even ABLE to be broken.

Quote:Honestly - i suggest to make it like 12k Shield damage for both involved.
Please keep in mind that for a collision, most of the time the game registers more then 1 successive "hit". This much damage would destroy even a small capital ship, from "colliding" with the fighter debris (which manage to push even a huge capital ship back).
My take on it? Capships should just not be moved -at all- by fighter collisions, if that is possible, due to the mass difference involved. Fighters themselves should bounce off spinning wildly, out of control, with engines down for 2 seconds.

You need to understand that fighters hits capital ships sometimes by mistake.
And no. If fighter is near capital ship, it doesn't necessery mean that pilot is doing something wrong. Sometimes by being close around you can dodge much better than keeping your distence. It's all about the style you'r flying.
Also fighters would explode hitting to other fighters? - no

Posting sanction reports isn't whining. Creating threads is.
You must have stopped reading before I said the line "accidents happen."
I know I'm guilty of accidentally colliding with a Capital Ship on occasion, and I'm sure most of the community here is too. Not every ram is deliberate, sometimes it's unavoidable.
