My money is on the fact that you are right that they will complain. I guess I will go to plan B. Keep a fighter permanently stationed there and switch to him to demand the tax.
It is sad though that they will not care about the rp value of it.
well, we had that same issue not too long ago. - when you are flying a capital ship, you are "limited" in what you are allowed to do - in favour of gamebalance and not roleplay. there was the example of a cruiser defending crete. - the corsairs dislike it when there are transports with thousands of passengers approaching.
but while it may be within RP to stop such a trader - all the cruiser can do is scowl at it. he cannot even assist a titan who tries to stop the trader. - in fact, a cruiser or greater can only make the very useless attempt to block the path of the transport ( waste of time, won t work )
then there was another example of a hacker spyglass assisting a wing of figthters to pirate in texas. thats a big no, too. the spyglass made it clear that he would only be sitting there for the fighters protection. - but that doesn t work either. it was part of the piracy - and was so not allowed to do so.
or in short, limited = stay away from ANY kind of piracy / taxing, no matter how distant you may be related to it. if you happen to fly through a system where buddies of you are taxing, make clear that you won t even watch them - but you ll just wish them a good day and mind your own business.
and - yes... lawfuls can stop a trader in a battleship if they like - might call it unfair, - but they got the bigger guns:P
very fun to shoot down smugglers in a dreadnaught, yaaarr...
but i cant recall the number of time ive been priated by a destroyer while i didnt knew of the rule. ridiculous.
I remember the first time i met Hersteller. I remember the first time, i met the Forschung. it was at Bornholm.
Bornholm is our oasis. The place we go when we need peace, where we can learn the Junker's way of living : salvaging debris.
But Bornholm depot has something more, his engineers could be - i said could be - the ones that build the Turanic Freigter, the Death Scythe, and repair a cruiser for exemple. How can they do that ? By melting and recycling a huge quantity of scrap metal thus it explains why they pay so much for it. Anyone coming to salvage and sell it to bornholm help us in this process.
In character, you can explain that what they do IS the Junker's way and they could think about becoming one of us. If they do not respect the oasis, do not pay attention to your words... Take a fighter and be assured that i will be there to make them pay or leave.
"Perfection, honesty, devotion" "Immortality is our subconscious main concern" "To change the system, you have to be inside the system and play by the rules"
Ah Bornholm I love that place :). My first love is always Rochester but I was in junker heaven when i discovered Bornholm. Most of the non junkers I see there are after the old ships there and the secrets they may hold. I have not seen any taking my scrap.
Oh and of course there and the <strike>bounty</strike> hunters.
I don't believe it would have been piracy if the traders were allowed to turn around and go to Corfu.
Because Liberty does the same thing to Cardi runners. Actually worse as they are killed if they dont drop cargo. Not sure why they got in trouble.
The rule says no 'pirating' in a cruiser or a battleship, thats what the 'limited' part means.
'Taxing' is just another imported word for pirating. Don't do it please ... You know the consequences.

Rules say you can't demand tax from lawfuls in anything above a gunboat. Why should you be able to earn money just by parking your cruiser in a popular mining spot?
No longer active online due to a dwindling amount of non-PvP (trading, pirating, mining, etc.) fun in the new version.

I agree but while the junkers might be mad that you are there we really don't have many ships to challenge a big ship. Don't think my raider freighter is going to cut it :)
