When I was the leader of the DJO club SDS,we put up a satallite in one system ( we had modded 4.84 for our server and club purposes), where we had listed a short memorial and the names of lost comrads (not due to death, thankfully) who had gone off the radar, for whatever reasons, with no warning at all.
That way, those of us who knew them could recant the stories about them to the younger pilots.Part of the lore of being a SDS Freelancer pilot.
maybe this is an idea.....kinda similar to all the outcast ships(?) , all pointed towards the unknown jumphole.

I'd avoid doing something without consent of my dear friend or such. In this case, it is not yours to decide.
The fine line of real life and virtual should not be overstepped.
Write credits of some kind to those, who's not around, but don't bound them to what you can't know they'd like.

I'm against this. Wouldn't like to be the guy who would have to decide which community members were worthy of it, and I wouldn't expect anyone else to want to be in that position either.

The stations/bases could be stated in the system of the faction in which the member had the most influence. Just my thoughts. What do you think about this?
No. For the simple reason that DiscoGC isn't the only community using this mod. We can't start having our playerbase dictate the line of the game of those other mods. I'd not mind the odd hints at such - CR has one or two in their infocards, but nothing obviously referring to one single player (unless you know of the reference). Ambiguity is key there.
Wide awake in a world that sleeps, enduring thoughts, enduring scenes. The knowledge of what is yet to come.
From a time when all seems lost, from a dead man to a world, without restraint, unafraid and free.
Mostly retired Discovery member. May still visit from time to time.
[color=#FFFFFF]I too don't agree about putting bases with the names of our deceased members.
I'll risk sounding disrespectful but I will make my peace. This is life, people live people die, and it's a real shame when a life ends sooner than expected. For me the disrespectful thing is trying to mourn people as if they were only their digital avatars. As Jinx said, a ship named appropriately would be a much more appropriate monument with much deeper meaning to the owner. Somebody on the Disco UK server say or somebody new wouldn't know what the memorial station or planet is. It would just be a name. And our members in heaven are everything but just names. Hell if I pass away tomorrow I don't want to be mourned or having monuments built in my honour, there is real life for that, I just want people to remember for me with a smile or a frown for what I really was nothing less nothing more.
