From: Shinji Takeda, Renzu Corporation To: Kei Marwick Re: Status Update
Greetings Marwick-san,
I'm glad to see your research has come to fruition already, those new probes sound like an excellent tool for reducing risk in deep space operations.
As for the 'alien' contact.. avoid at all costs. It is unfortunate that you encountered such an anomaly, please visit a medical bay for a check-up if you have not already.
Do not be ashamed of your recruitment choice, the main thing is that you tried. Not everyone is easy to evaluate, keep trying and don't give up!
I will be out-of-hours for the next week or so, I leave you in charge of operations until I return. Good luck!
Welcome back, Shinji, I trust that business went well on your trip. Well, you asked for a status report on recent events and I've finally had time to sit down and work one up.
Renzu ship sales are up and we have quite a few orders for our new liner and all feedback from our customers has been pleasant. With the success that we have had with the liner there has been talk around the offices and yards of possibly obtaining the schematics for the venerable Kusari Explorer. If we could purchase the rights it would likely be possible to update it's systems and market it to more of Sirius.
I have also attempted comunications with the KNF and Detroit Munitions. I, along with the CEO, beleive we may be able to purchase rights of passage from the KNF to Oita for the use of our weapons research laboratories. So far we have recieved no word on that. Our negotiations with them about the testing seem to have taken a turn for the better, however, we are still looking to achieve better results. I haven't heard back from Detroit Munitions, yet, either. My comunique to them was pleasant but obscure and it is my hope that they both understand and enjoy the message.
I hate to finish my report on a bad note, but I have had some disturbing reports. Apparantly every one of our shipments of Ki light fighters has been hijacked. Not one dealer in Sirius has the ship in stock now. I made an appology to the people of Liberty, as there was a large que of them waiting to purchase the missing models. I also offered a small reward, strictly from my funds, for any information leading to the repossesion of our ships. Unfortunately, as of now, the only information I have recieved suggests that the Xeno's took them. That begs the question, how did they get into Kyushu to steal the shipments there, though. Currently I am at a loss as to what has happened but I will keep my eyes and ears open.
Yours Sincerely,
Kei Marwick, Field Research Analyst, Head of Research and Development.

Thank you for the update, it will be another few days before I am fully back in office, there is much to be done. You have proven most capable of taking care of things while I have been away.
The lost shipments are very disturbing, with our massive production requirements we don't have much room for losses like these. Fortunately, the light fighter line has been discontinued and should not cause major disruption to our customers. Please send a report to the Kusari State Police as soon as possible.
On the other hand, it looks like our new product line is a great success. I am very proud of Renzu, our hard work is paying off. Even the mysterious events surrounding the last Ki fighters cannot overshadow this.
Good news everyone - we now have official access to the Liberty Police Inc's Illinois System: Link
To get there, use the jump hole located in the Colorado System, North of Planet Denver. Take a right on the trade lane to Galileo.
This enables us to easily access to the Oita system without needing review on a case-by-case basis. I hope to see reduced travel times and less administrative work for us.
Please ensure you have read and understood the LPI's regulations regarding travelling though this system, and most importantly, enjoy the view.
The last week or so has been very busy, I am now back in office and trying to keep on top of the orders we have flying in! As predicted, our sales have been fantastic, with the Shukensha liner breaking records. Good work everyone, thanks to all of your hard work, Renzu is more prosperous than ever.
Our mechanics and designers are hard at work evaluating the performance data from the new ships, and issuing firmware updates where needed. Our logistics division is in the process of updating our trade routes, as the markets have drastically changed in the last few weeks.
Overall, it has been a tiring but exciting few weeks here at Renzu. Keep up the good work and keep the orders coming!
Last night, I happened upon a fantastic opportunity.
Undocking from Planet Miura, I was contacted by a GMG vessel regarding ore hauling. Having hear positive things about such business, I gladly accepted. We proceeded into the gas field and I paid 23 million for a full hold of Helium3. Link
Myself and a Kishiro train made our way to South Shields on a hazardous run through what is now Gallic territory in the Tau-31 system. The refinery pays excellently for Helium3, netting my Ryuujin train nearly 60 million credits!
Naturally, I will be looking to do business with the Gas Miners' Guild again.
Due to an increased number of ship construction and weapons contracts, the decision has been taken to sell our Ryuujin superhauler, Sakura Maru to the Independent Neuralnet Division.
Renzu will now utilise a fleet of Anki freighters for our trading needs and any heavy haulage requirements will be outsourced to the IND. Following trial runs and analysis, this has been found to be a more economical approach.
This was a difficult decision, but for the long-term, this is the right choice for Renzu.

Konichiwa,
I am back from my vacation. Though I enjoyed myself immensely it is time to get back to work. If anybody has any ideas for research and or development, please feel free to contact me. Because of the workload that built up durning my abscence we'll be putting in some overtime here in the R&D labs.
Yours Sincerely,

An agreement with Daumann Heavy Contruction has been finalised, allowing us to ship Cobalt Ore from Rheinland to Kusari! This is great news for us.
The official designated route is from the ore pickup point in Omega-7 to Narita Outpost, New Tokyo. Ensure to contact a Daumann representative to purchase the ore.
The agreed price is 3000cr/unit. Avoid travelling alone when possible!
The KSP has given us the go ahead for our mock combat testing. What does that mean for us? Well, we need to finalize preperation of our snub fighters. We are going to need the participation of a minimum of three Renzu pilots as well as a hired force of agressors/targets. Ideally the hired force would attack us once or twice and then switch over and act as targets for a concentrated attack from our test ships. I will be working with many of you on this and I need a comprehensive report on pilots willing, able, and fully equipped. I'll need you ship type, weapons load, and Renzu registry to report to the KSP before the tests. My crew and I will be flying a modified Anki and we will need at least one Saishi, Touketsu, and Wasupu for testing.
Yours Sincerely,
Kei Marwick, Head of Research and Development.
