If I could have any newer system with a good video card, processor, and RAM, I'd be a happy camper. But I've been using the machine I own now for like 4 years, and it's been running without a hitch except when I've had to reinstall Windows like 3-4 times. I'm saddened I can't run any of the newer games out there, but all I really need is Freelancer, Red Alert: A Path Beyond, and Command and Conquer Generals: Zero:Hour anyway.:P
' Wrote:So far I've been impressed, it's done everything I've tried to make it do (which isn't a lot, the RAM isn't installed yet). Though, they screwed up somewhere and told me the OS was 64-bit Vista, as it happens it's 32...*glares at Florida*
I think my brother said something about only shipping 32-bit to retail and online retail, and sending 64-bit to you only by request via Microsoft Website. I forgot how to do it, but you can get it. Just Google it and you can get some answers.
Oh, and play this. I'm sure your computer can handle it, and it's, by far, the best game I've ever played.

Also, it stopped working:mellow:When I installed the RAM something must have gone wrong, because now when I turn it on the screen stays blank and none of the controls respond. I'm lost. *sighs*

You DID make sure it was the right RAM......Right?

You must've bumped something.....
Factory Warranty for the win?

That's the funny thing: There's this blue wire loose, next to a set of three others (different colors but the same type of wire) which appear to be connected to the wireless unit, but it wasn't attached to anything and I didn't bump it or adjust anything AT ALL, I was incredibly careful. What's wierder is that there's no place for this little blue wire of mine to go; there's no jack in there for it.
SO! I call my tech-savvy friends and when they can't do jack I send it back to Alienware with a sheepish grin.
And I don't see it for another freaking month. GAAAAAAAH.

Actually, it's in the mail back to me...the techs said it was a faulty graphics card, which has been replaced, and I got three gigs of RAM out of it free (the four I bought is on its way back to NewEgg. Whoohoo!). I love the Angry Consumer face.
