Time for some quick math.
Let's say range is 5000, and speed is 2000. Shot is fired at maximum range. Time to reach target: roughly 2.5 seconds. If someone is running, they're probably dancing like crazy trying to dodge your cruise disruptors anyway. That does not bode well for the effectiveness of the guns in their intended usage.
Of course, it would be interesting if FLHook could be used to track what type of gun someone killed someone else with. Have it set up that when someone made a kill with one it would say something like "Headshot" or (more appropriately) "Lucky Shot"...

Well to imitate a true Sniper formate then what about a 5,000 m/s or more speed?
i played nightstalker's universe a while back, they had special missiles called sniper missiles, abt 15 k range i believe (ships go 3x as fast as they do here so that would be equal to a 5k here) that would be cool but wouldnt fit in and wouldnt really be balanced
