@ Spear: Yeah ... pretty good memory of events ... just can't remember who was involved. Anyway ... I've given up on this argument a long time ago. Now ... if somebody does this crap to me ... I just give'em the guns and be done with it. There's too many idiots (yes I said it ... idiots) that wanna twist the rules into all sorts of shapes to validate their actions. I'm just sick and tired of these dolts ... they're usually here for PVP and not role play ... and there's nothing you or I can do about it.
I'd say that if they fly too far away, just type something the the effect of "That's right, flee you *faction_name* scum!", screenshot it with their distance, and don't worry about them. If they quickly return after your coment, continue the fight. If they engage later, you can PM them about the rules, and report if they don't listen.

If I'm in a fighter/bomber, I personally consider that going over 5k away is fleeing. Even if you were jousting, it would be really hard to get over 5k away from each other if you didn't purposely thrust away from your opponent.
For example, I was fighting an OC bomber the other day by West Point where he attacked me. After a while, he thrusted about 5-6k away from West Point, while I just sat in that spot. I couldn't be bothered <strike>fighting</strike> dodging missiles any more, so I just typed "Target has fled, returning to base" and flew away.
[10:10:28 AM] Josh (Dejavu): Bauer is legendary to the LPI, I joined because I wanted to be that epic.
I personally think it should be around 10k or more. I've occasionally been in fights against opponents who clearly outmatch me, and I do what I can to even the odds, for example, a few days ago, I was flying my BAF bomber and I ran into a KNF destroyer (the Mogami, I think) around 8k above planet Leeds. I couldn't exactly win, what with my lack of flying skills, but I couldn't just leave Leeds undefended. So, I tried to lure the Mogami into the capital ship patrols down at the planet. This led to distances of 8-9k developing, while we taunted eachother, since the Mogami's pilot was too clever to fall into the trap after the first time. However, setting a limit for fleeing on thrusters would seriously affect my rogue's style of play. At the moment, it's a sort of hit and run. Disrupt a lane, wait for traders, run from the inevitable liberty ships, preferably before they can get a shot in.
this would be a grave dig, but it is better then starting a new topic.
i was <strike>pirateing</strike> trieing to pirate a ADV. train in a werewolf, however. a large amount of NPC's (the cap kind) came and started blasting me, at this point, we had been shooting at eachother. i thursted to about 4 k away. he managed to get away,
after talking to hoodlum about what the trader had done (not gonna go into it.) he said that i had been fleeing. which was kindof silly, at 4 k.
can we please get the ADMINS to say something?
