Yes I know what you mean. Modding M&B is not too straight forward. Its certainly not the TES construction set thats for sure :D
I learned to mod some of the text files for tweaks etc, and there one or two of the mods that have historical inaccuracies I would like to correct ( like having longbows and longbowmen in the 100 years war mod, there was no such thing as a longbow in that period, the word was used much later on in time). If I could be bothered to sit and read I would no doubt be able to do this but to be honest, I dont think its worth the trouble.

Whenever I get 30 good and experienced men, something goes wrong and then its over again:P
Oh yeah tell me about it. You go into a situation that you just know you ought to win and end up getting trashed. Or you make a boob and end up in battle with Lord kickass and his 100 swadian knights cos you werent paying attention

' Wrote:That is the frustrating part.
Every lord with 200 men follows your 20 men, to just kick your behind hard.
Maybe beeing a merc for a Kingdom is a bad idea if you dont have enough men.
I have a merc but only time i go near the enemy is when serving in the campaign, otherwise i spend time away from the front doing quests and fighting outlaws etc. But you can still get caught out now and then

Now it works somehow. Raiding small villages, at least 1 day from the next castle or city is the best way to go with my 40 men.
Bandits are always running from me, the only thing I have to fear is a larger troop.
Quickly gather enough men around you, spend points into leadership and charisma. That way you can easily deal with the bandits and gain lots of experience for your troops.
And on a sidenote, I love the polearm combat from the horse. Kicking them from their horses is verry cool.
Not really, game is more non linear and open ended. Main focus is on mounted combat, character advancment, and party managment. A lot more to it than PVK from what i remember of that game.
