Go play the Vanilla campaign, then the Disco. Not only will you find that Engage the Rheinland Fleet is damn near impossible, you're everywhere before the scripts are set to run, so there's all kinds of wierd things and occasional crashes. Try it, it's actually refreshing once in a while.

Hmm. In certain places, Hyperlanes could be placed.
Those would by like tradelanes, but widely spaced. Instead of one every 7k, we can place one at the entry and another at the exit point, if that is possible.
(If you find any mistake in my English, please let me know via a PM)
(Really, I speak terrible English, so please, tell me if I make mistakes. I'd like to improve it a bit )
I'd rather call them "Acceleration Gates" and make them look something like the ones from EVE Online (Eve is not the first game to use the name, or the design)

No offense, but billshut. i've played discovery with speed mod set to 600 for cruise, 400 for thruster. no problems at all with fighters, very slight problems with cap ships. 400 cruise would be no sweat. it really does make it more fun. plus, disco is like 30 years after fl. they should have faster ships by now.
Quote:According to Igiss, SP campaign and cruise speed are related. So increasing the cruise speed means modifying all the SP stuff in order to accommodate the new speeds.
The second time i played the SP campaign i did it with speedmod. the only thing thats detrimental is that you have to wait for everyone else to catch up when you're flying together. but thats actually pretty nice because you get a minute to catch your breath.
Tradelanes aren't outside their payroll (as sarcasticly mentioned by Dab lol) It's just that Ageira is the PRIMARY constructor of trade lanes (I think that's the right company)
With the right finagling you could make a tradelane *look* like that... but it would still operate just like a normal one, which means no graphic changes and it would look like crap. But it's still a fun idea.
I personally think that slapping tradelanes next to crete and malta would be a bad idea. Part of what makes these systems as beautiful as they are is the emptiness and depth.
If you want to simulate Intersystem Hypertradelanes use jumpholes that go from one side of a system to the other side. For example, in the Crossfire mod the Earth system is over 10 times the size of a default one and used several of these hypertradelanes to navigtate across.

The problem with that is that it would make trading too easy. Knowing my way around the border worlds is good enough for me.
