We already have a server police.... US.
You see any one messing around, sent a snappy to the Admins. They will take care of it.
Good to know that server will be back upto speed soon. Last weekend all I could do was to read the 128/128 sign. These are the times when I miss those "noob" corsairs that come in caps and destroy this lame duck party....
Imho they were there before you and they're doing what you would be doing: enjoying the server. As far as RP...people aren't always hauling or shooting, y'know. Remember all those scenes where Trent and Juni were tipsy in the bar?

Either that or give LPI powers to move players on, enact laws against loitering.... "Move along, nothing to see here..."
I think the first idea might work pretty well, as the second one although implanted could cause furthermore turmoil.
The problem with sanctioning loitering characters is that you have to decide whether they are taking up space on the server for no good reason and preventing another user accessing the server or whether theya re doing something else. I spent an hour or so sitting atop newark, last night, I'd just finished escorting a trader a long way indeed, and I just wanted some RP lite, and that is what I got, some fun and games with all the players sitting there. Japes were had by all. Should I have been sanctioned for sitting there? I din't feel like logging off the character, and I didn't feel like travelling the lanes in any character, there were only 90 people online, was I wasting a slot? I don't believe I was and there's the problem, if the admins introduce a law that says anyone loitering is due for a sanction then will it be defined or are they going to get an influx of people reporting the various Armouries that deal mostly in PMs and thusly aren't visibly active?
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.
I could arrange an invasion every once in a while...maybe to subjugate a Rogue diplomatic upheaval, and kill everyvody in system while we're at it? It would cost the LSF, of course, but it's there...

Having been a server police elsewhere and eventually being made an Admin I can tell you that the logistics behind putting trustworthy individuals in place can be daunting.
We spent weeks training people to be server police on Raw server and still ended up letting a few bad apples get through.
If the Admins dont want server police there is a good reason for it.
The idea of staging a few invasions is much more likely to discourage loitering.
