As i said before is this really a problem that requires new rules, and new hassle for admins, players et al?
no its not, sure we have a couple morons once in a while that go outside ye olde gentlemans code of conduct, but its not worth making a new law for an event which apparently happens rarely.

Hmph... Perhaps what those Bounty Hunters did was bad. But I see no reason for the Corsairs to complain at anything, they do exactly the same. Yes, I say they because I have seen it from all types of Corsairs, faction or no faction. And the word Fair-Play, hah, what a joke.
Of course what the BHG did was stupid and wrong. I don't think that's under debate by any but the most sullen of their number. What concerns me is that this Ask-Before-You-Blow-His-Face-In-With-A-Bigger-Set-Of-Guns ideology is going to be applied to standardized large fleets (and the way things are going, and the way Xoria's wording some of his stuff, it will be, and may already have been). I don't under any circumstances want to see that happen, because it defeats the purpose of an attack (I can haz catch dem with dere pants down plox?). The only rule of engagement we need to observe that isn't already well-covered in the rules is Don't Be a Capwhore, as far as I'm concerned, and I haven't operated that way since the HF-NPG/BSG-Corsair war ended a year ago and cap battles went out of style when people started whining about it. I expect nothing less of any of the 101st.

Incidentally fair does NOT mean balanced. IF you're attempting a full scale invasion, yes warn them first. It makes the fight more engaging for both sides. If it's a normal raiding force then look at the chatboard see what's there and scale your invasion to fit. You don't have to equalize forces. Putting forth a force which has a 90% chance of winning, but can be beaten by what is there is dandy. A challenge is fun as well. Hell I've participated in raids on both sides of that war and not won any of them, but I had fun being pasted across the system.
If you're looking for a fight, then surely talking to a faction fella who can muster a decent response and also wants a fun fight is no bad thing? We all know who can be relied upon to provide fun times for all within any given system, we know who's here for fun and who's here to win at all costs.
A lot of the responses I'm seeing here, seem to be along the lines of "But why should I have to tell them I'm bringing a fleet, all I want to do is stomp them into the floor" That's not the attitude to take, this is, above and beyond all else, a game. I don't sling hordes of armed goons at my player team in a table top RP game, why would I do the same to my opponents in an online one? I want them to have as much fun as me, I want the congratulatory PM's after the fight. What I don't want is the ones that whine at me. And the best way to avoid those is to play fair. Fun should be there for all to have, no matter the diplomacies of your respective factions, you are NOT a real Outcast and your opponent is NOT a real Corsair, you are both people trying to have fun in your spare time. Consider that first.

Then you clearly haven't been on those massively dissapointing raids where you get there and you find no-one there. Or six people get raped by the full scale invasion fleet and then rightfully ask"What the hell was that dude?".
I trust that people will be fair minded enough to get a defence fleet out that at least in some way matches the fleet cming down. -That- is why I warn people. Because I like good fights. Not crappy massively one sided fights. Be I on the winning or loosing side.
But don't forget the fact that when you are in game, you are real Outcast or real Corsair.
Yeah, if it is "invasion", which actually stands to word invasion, with BSes, cruisers, fighter, everything, and a lot of it, it is good to announce it. But for a while, it started to look like we will make rules to specify rules about what rules you have to respect when you want to enter enemy territory.
I am not defending these BHs, just a note, I'm just talking about general freedom. Just not make any more rules, or we will end up having rules even on "how to dock with Tradelane".
But to Crete camping... Let's face it, it actually works on both sides, I am not BHG, nor Corsair, but I see it quite often. One day 10 BHs camp Crete and kill undocking Corsairs. The other day, 10 Corsairs camp FP and kill undocking BHs. Yes, we should definitely do something about it, but... let's try to speak with them, not make rules instead. It will make even the "good" people pay for sins of others, and will kinda make just Lancer from Freelancer.
Cheers.

Your application to complain has been denied.
Please fill out a A3bII form if you wish to complain about the complaint denial.
Why not simply just do what you normally do? If you see that the Corsairs clearly would not be able to even put up a fight, then don't go charging in with the OMFG fleet. Simple common sense and respect for other players.
The point is Elvin, you are NEVER a real anything in game, except a real player, playing with other people, trying to help define a fake universe that involves hundreds of other REAL poeple trying to do the same. When you do anything how it impacts on others should always be first in your mind. "Am I going to make this fun? Or is it going to be a wtfpwn moment? Are they going to have chance to respond, or am I sending my folks in to collect blue messages?" Just going in to beat your opponent senseless is not fun for your opponent, this applies to EVERYONE. Whether you be a BHG KattelBruzah or a Corsair Praefect or an Outcast Blimp or a Liberty Dread, whether you be a fleet of Corsair Handbags or a pile of Rogue GBs all mounting twin Dragonflies. It doesn't matter the composition of your force, if fun for everyone isn't in your mind, then quite frankly, you're playing this game wrong.

I simply do not see where the problem is. Del, Linkus, and Joe are right. As well as most people I know that have common sense and decency.
That's all you need.

You know, try to repeat that all, after you will see me doing a single thing from the list, but not before. Don't insult me of things I have never done and will never do. Guess that exactly why we two always have to get adrenaline rush when we speak. And I even dislike PvP.
And only because I have said that rules aren't the best solution. And I still belive they are not. Maybe I am naive but I still belive we should talk to people, instead of making rules to corner them. And I even hope they will hear when admin pops before them, maybe not when is it told by a player, but that should help, and after some time, who knows, they may remeber it. And don't forget that a lot of these people don't actually read forums, or even know that the forums exist, so we will ahve to work ingame.
