Jack smiles, "if it's not to much trouble that would be much appreciated". He pushes a button on his wrist computer and a small data-card is ejected, Jack takes the card and passes it to Dr Jefferson, "everything you need to know about the glasses should be on there".
After almost ten minutes of sitting in an adjoining room, the world stops spinning. Jack had only partially booted his glasses, the only functions that had come online were vision enhancement and basic HUD controls. His wrist computer, detecting that the proper amount of time had passed for the dizziness to stop, prompted him to perform a full bootup; he declined the prompt, there was little point to it if he would (hopefully) soon be rid of the things.
Instead he leans back in his seat, crosses his arms and closes his eyes. He does not know how long Dr Jefferson will be so he might as well get some sleep, it felt like ages since he had a decent sleep.
It felt like he had only closed his eyes for a second, but upon opening them again the room was noticeably different. The room was slightly darker than it had been when he shut his eyes, perhaps it was part of the ship's simulated day/night cycle; and some of the other chairs were in almost imperceptibly different positions, he would not have noticed if sleep had not been so...insubstantial; if anything, the brief sleep had only served to make him more aware of his weariness. He sighed, shook his head and banished his weariness, or at least the appearance of weariness, as best he could. Afterall, there was no point in dwelling on, or giving others reason to dwell on, such things.
He stood up slowly and looked around the room; seeing the door he had come through before, the one leading to the room with the scanner, he turned, walked to it and pushed the door open.
Jack wandered the corridors for a while, eventually coming across a crew member, who Jack quickly flagged down and asked for directions. Even with directions the non-descript corridors of the ship still managed to turn him around twice before he came to a door labeled "Construction Bay". Smiling to himself he pushed it open.
John looked up from a control panel as he hears the door open.
"Ah, there you are! I thought you weren't coming. Anyway, everything's all ready to begin making your new eyes. Just wanted to know if you wanted to come watch them being made."
"Very well, I just need to contact the bridge, turn off the artificial gravity."
He walks over to the comms device on the wall, pushing a button activating it.
"Can you deactivate the artificial gravity? I'm starting up the micro-construction bay."
After a few seconds sirens start to sound throughout the ship, with a voice speaking,
"All hands, prepare for artificial gravity deactivation, I repeat, all hands prepare for artificial gravity deactivation."
John grabs a pole on the wall as the gravity suddenly stops and everything not tied down starts to float up, he slowly moves over to the control panel for the construction bay.
"Right, now lets get this going."
he pushes several buttons then the machine comes to life and started to manufacture the eyes.
Jack is caught a bit off guard by the sudden loss of gravity; he hastily grabs the door handle as he begins to float and spends a few moments trying to right himself after somehow flipping upside down. After orientating himself he pushes off of the wall and floats forwards to get a better look at the machine.
"Were you able to include the HUD functionality without to much trouble?" he asks as he comes to a stop near Dr Jefferson.
