The future of gaming, IMHO, rests with the development of player interaction. Who cares if the graphics suck if you can actually talk with, and make small talk to NPC's. Example: In SP FL, what if you could actually talk to the bartender, instead of canned cutscenes. This idea was almost realized in Deus Ex: Invisible War. I think the future comes when you affect everything around you, from behavior of NPC's to the weather.
When that comes, it will realize for a lot more people what I learned: You are the machine. (if you don't get it, PM me over it.)
Back to video cards, what they have now is capable of what I have approximated as a billion times more complicated than the Riva series.

How in the lords name did you manage that? I have a 3000+ 64bit, only managed to up the FSB by like.. 30 (while keeping it stable), so from 1,8ghz to 2,2ghz. Over that and windows wouldn't even start, so couldn't even test prime95. I upped the voltage a bit for a test, didn't change a thing so changed it back down.
Blodo, I do not know how he did that. I know that I was able to get my CPU (AMD 64 3000+) from 2Ghz to 2.3Ghz on stock. I could've pushed it to 2.4, but when I tried that, Windows BSoD's a lot. Like every 5 minutes. So, yeah, once I get the voltages figured out, I'm gonna try for 2.5. Or I may just leave it as it is. With my CPU overclocked, and my GPU clocked at about 1.5 x normal, I should be good. (Battlefront 1 gets ~80 FPS, everything on high.)

I'm not made of money. I upgraded from the ATI Radeon 9250 to the Nvidia 8400GS, and the difference in performance was overwhelming. I would like a better card.
I also want a drum kit.
A new guitar
A bigger monitor
A better car
better mobile phone
I can go on all day.
At the end of the day its just all money down the drain:sleep:

It's called spoiling yourself once in a while. I know the feeling sayne;)
You can get any low end card practically really cheap, so I can't see any reason not to upgrade from 9250. With 50 bucks you can do wonders if you know what to look for or buy it off second hand.
Even new ones like 7600GT start from 70 bucks and the performance will be over the top compared to 9250.
A new x1950Pro is somewhere around 120 so no use to get it since you can get a 3650 for the same price. But X1650 Pro costs the same as 7600GT. But 7600GT is much faster.
I would really look for second hand cards for under 100.
