I am not saying you don't have a right to your opinion. It just seemed as if you thought that the acronym was the primary or only reason we chose our name and i was trying to correct that misconception before it got out of hand. We do value the opinions either pro or con from everyone it helps us grow and improve.
Yeah, it was just that one of your guys told me that it was intentional. Still would recommend changing it though. I'd like to see my faction taken seriously, not laughed at everytime someone sees one of my guys online... I mean, the name itself is fine. If you go back to my first post, I recommended changing it to SB, instead of SOB, since "of" is not integral to meaning. I just feel that having SOB at all would detract from your faction and the overall mood of the game.

When we first heard of SOB, we considered it a joke. Why? The name.
If you want people to take you seriously you ARE going to have to change the name... Regardless of what you do that silly name will always be there to haunt you...

A few SOB pilots were in Sig 13 attacking some Corsairs, A trade ship (one of vincents alt characters) offered to pay one of my pilots to keep him safe during the exchange with us & the corsairs. I will agree he probably did not scan the cargo but rather the ID as he told me it was a trader and was still in a fight with Corsairs in system & pobably did not have time to do a complete scan. I was allready dead at this time & respawned at Ruiz in Beta & heading for Malta.
I was informed a independent outcast (had no tag on it) was attacking the trader that paid my pilot to defend it.
My pilot in open comms repeatedly asked the outcast to cease fire. The Independent pilot continued to fire upon
the trade ship, destroying it. My pilot saw this action as an attack against us by an independent outcast & thus fired on & destroyed him. At No time during this did the Independent pilot make any communications to anyone.
*sigh* round and round we go
I was the independent pilot. I launced from Yanagi in S13 to see a few SOBs receiving money from Vincent. I asked if he had any money for me and he said no. at which time I blew him up. Aka, a pirate doing his job. After I blew Vincent up then the "outcasts" started firing at me and destroyed that ship. while I was typing, which explains why the SOBs didn't see any text from me. at no time did I ever see any Corsairs. I'm not saying they wern't there, just...not anywhere within 14k from me. and the 2 or 3 SOBs that were there were acting all peacefull like.
' Wrote:As I entered Alpha system, I was passed by 2 RoS pilots heading towards Beta. I said Greetings as always, then was informed by RoS Vengenace I was to leave Alpha & never return or be fired on. As I wasn't willing to leave & stated as such, Vengenance began to fire on me, of course I fired back in defense. about a 5 to 6 minute duel went on untill a cease fire was ordered. Vengance first claimed we killed his brother in Sig 13. & was an act of treason, Then shortly afterwards claims it was a remotely controlled ship. Which now makes me wonder 3 things.
At no time did I ever claim that the pirating ship was my "brother" one of the SOB pilots claimed that early on in the debates and it carried though till now it appears.
' Wrote:1. Why couldnt have taken time & RP'd with the pilot that shot him down when the pilot asked him 3 times to cease fire? Even if a remote controlled ship, it would have had communications.
2. Explain to me how an Outcast pilot was killed in a remote controlled ship?
3. Wouldn't firing on me when I entered Alpha constitute the same act of treason, more so as I was a live pilot?
1. I made my demand to the trader as a pirate is supposed to do. the trader was shooting at me so I didn't bother to say anything else. When the trader was dead and my hull was still getting hammered I was rather confused till I saw the SOBs shooting at me. I was in the middle of typing a "what the heck are you guys doing?" when I blew up.
2. There was no pilot killed. but how did your pilots know it was remotly piloted? Until I informed you otherwise you had no information that it wasn't anything but a piloted ship.
3. Is it treason to execute a traitor?
' Wrote:Of course all this was argued out in game in the Alpha system. After some calming down, Zavala & I talked & came to an agreement that SOB would pay RoS 30 mill in damages and call it even. We paid 50 mil to Zavala & figured the situation was done & we all was going to live happily ever after.
Reperations have been made but you still have to live with your actions.

Think. Say you're a Real World Admiral in the British Navy during WWII. You have a Destroyer that you can assign to a Captain in the British Navy and a crew that has been extensivly tested and trained and one that is loyal. Or you could sell this Destroyer to a mercenary force that may or may not do what you need that Destroyer to do. Hmmm...tough choice no?

now you're just contradicting yourself. first you state that "The greed of corporate type syndicates have seized control of the fields, taking over the distribution of Cardamine. They care only for the power the profits have brought them. This has caused much corruption, as each member of the syndicates vie for more power and profit than the others casting off even their fellow Maltese to make a profit. They have gone as far as bribing, coercing and blackmailing to gain control of the government along with some military officials to assure their profit margins regardless of the costs to the people of Malta." and then you claim that the syndicates are just "confused members of the Outcast ranks".
1. Last time I checked war was faught by and against the rank-and-file soldier, not the generals.
2. Make up your mind, are the Syndicates corrupt or confused?'

then why isn't the BLS on your "hostile" list? wouldn't they shoot at you after finding out what you are doing?
First off let me say i was not there for the incident in Sig 13 but if my guys say there were Corsairs there then i believe them. I am not sure why this is the first time you have mentioned you didn't see any.
Secondly after reading all this i assume you consider yourself to be a traitor for not only did YOU fire on an outcast with the intent to kill him but you KNEW the ship he had destroyed was an unmanned remotely piloted ship. So you were trying to extract revenge for the loss of a piece of EQUIPMENT.
Now to address you other points

1: we are not in a "war" with the BLS we do not approve of the way they do things and we feel they are responsible for the corruption in the Maltese government. So we work to hinder that influence the best we can without spilling Maltese blood. You make a snake harmless by pulling his fangs.
2: The government is corrupt and the members of the BLS rank and file are Maltese that we do not want to kill because we feel they have been led astray by the BLS.
We have said over and over that our operations against the power of the BLS are COVERT our group is in its infancy and though we have stated we oppose them that is here in the forums and is player knowledge NOT character knowledge.
Would you expect an infant to attack a full grown Grizzly bear?
As far as the example of military procedure concerning ships and such. You conveniently use outdated examples of a war the was waged long ago and refuse to use modern examples of governments arming militias or rebels to help over throw a regime they do not want in power.
Now i am unsure as to why you are so fixated on the SOB and the BLS being at war but i have to wonder which group you want exterminated more.
Maltese... government? Since when is there a Maltese government? Last I checked, there's a bunch of dons who control their various regions of Malta, the various parts of the Outcast military (led by the 101st) and if there is any "governing" body its similar to the Articles of Confederation the United States started with- big council of dons, who can squabble amongst themselves and stuff but have no power to pass taxes, order the military around, etc.
The BLS have a sizable stake in Malta's operations and have a lot of friends in the Outcast military, and the way they operate has caused concerns among many dons, some of whom meet with each other to discuss how to handle the BLS.
Its good to see someone taking a stand against the BLS, honestly what fun is the struggle for a monopoly when everyone goes "okay, its yours". Still, if you aren't in communication with the leaders/ex-leaders of the BLS, you probably should be just so you can get the facts straight and maximize RP potential. Love the Skype, its perfect for this.
At this point the various Outcasts should put their egos back in their pants, please.
As far as I'm concerned, the Maltese government is very similar to what Sovereign's outlined; a Council of Dons, certainly with the power to levy taxes against Maltese citizens and make domestic governing decisions, but with no real foreign policy power or police force; everything concerning law is enforced via the military, which the Dons have no real power over. All we do is 'take their opinions into consideration', as CHL put it so wonderfully a couple of months ago. And, contrary to popular belief, we are independent of the Cardamine-smuggling organizations; I've always been of the opinion that our budget is voted to us by the Dons, the money coming out of their pockets (of course, should we dislike the figure we see we can easily get that changed). We will protect them from assault by foreign parties but we take no sides in conflicts within the Maltese nation and will do nothing but act as a peacekeeping force in such instances, doing little more than breaking up armed conflicts. We regard the SOB as a paramilitary group, much like the RoS but with a much tighter leash and a more directly linked control structure; they're pilots willing to fly against the nation's enemies, and hence we will arm and command them as we see fit, as something of a volunteer squadron (more specifically, under contract to us, but as they're Outcast essentially submissive).
As for this Sigma-13/Quest/SOB BS, I'm getting tired of it. Correction: Been tired of it. Like the post's title says, EGOS IN PANTS. You know who you are. Drop it into the stupid grave and put the dirt back on top, please.

I'd like to ask again, is Kusari one of your main projected ZoIs?
I'm asking because if it is, how does that affect your relationship with the Blood Dragons? As far as I know, they might be a bit bitter if Outcasts came into what was previously regarded as their stomping grounds, as they had a mutual agreement to keep separate from each other (since BD's don't necessarily like Cardimine).

Actually, We occasionally pass through Kusari space. And that is usually it, just pass through. We would not pirate that area with out first consulting the Blood Dragons as we list them as friendly to us. (both being outlaw groups, we have had 1 pilot do so & he has been told not to unless ok'd by a Blood Dragon) If required, we can start asking for permission to pass through if that is needed. We usually pirate Sig 13 & 19 & occasionally Tau 37, 23 & 29. We have ventured in to GC territory also, but with permission from them as set in our alliance with them.
Hope this answers you question. If not feel free to post again or give me a yell in game.
