I have been receiving many reports recently about Outcasts in Kusari space, namely in Kyushu and surrounding systems. They loiter, asking credits from respectable traders and destroying those who do not comply. They continue this until a member of the KNF or the Farmers Alliance chases them off.
This is unacceptable. It not not the KNF's job to govern Kusrai core space, nor is it the Farmers'. Kusari core space is watched over by us, the Samurai Police. If we cannot keep our own homeland in check, then we have lost all honor as KSP officers. Gentlemen and ladies, we need step up our patrols. The KSP is the prime authority within Kusari space, and these detestable pirates and terrorists need to know it. We do not tolerate lawbreakers. We do not abide piracy. We keep the skies clean so that Kusari can continue to function.
I expect excellence from each and every one of you. You joined the Kusari State Police knowing what was required. Prove to me your loyalty to Kusari.
That being said, I also encourage you all to invest in some heavier fighter craft. Our Wyrms cannot compete with all of our opponents. Consider acquiring a second ship, perhaps a Chimaera VHF or an Umibozu Bomber. Use them when necessary, against our more powerful enemies. We will show them the might of Kusari's Samurai Police.
Today began with a call on the emergency channel from the KNF. They needed assistance in Honshu, at Yukawa Shipyards. Szerano Lycone was already there. By the time I arrived, though, the Corsairs that had allegedly been the source of the disturbance had fled. At the same time, the KNF was dealing with a pair of Outcasts in Kyushu, but the matter was sorted out quickly.
After the excitement, Szerano and I continued regular patrols. The rest of the day went by normally, many traders passing by, some carrying contraband and illegal goods to the Tau systems. Most of them were compliant, and dropped their restricted cargo. Two, however, stated that they were carrying their cargo of military vehicles to Tau 31, and would not stop. The traders RST.Rhein and Bananhej each now have an outstanding fine of two million credits. Should we see them again, it is unlikely that they will cooperate. Have a bomber prepared for the next time they appear; we may have no choice but to destroy their cargo.
Comm ID: Tomimoto Tachiko, Machi-bugyoh, KSP Begin report:
I received a report of two pirates sitting at Narita Outpost today. Corsairs, for a change. I do not know what prompted them to come so far into Kusari space, but the weren't in it for long.
By the time I arrived at Narita, there was already a Bounty Hunter engaged in battle with the two Corsairs. I didn't question the Hunter's presence; I simply asked if he needed help, to which he responded, "YES." I entered the fight in my bomber, and together, the Hunter and I were able to dispatch of the Gunboat rather quickly. The other Corsair, a bomber, proved much more troublesome.
I was unable to land many direct hits on the Praetorian bomber, as my weapons were too slow to follow his loops around the mooring fixtures and docking bays of Narita Outpost. Officer Szerano Lycone soon joined the battle with his fighter, and it was around that time that the Hunter left, apparently bored of his prey. I find it despicable that he was not willing to finish the job he started, but that's irrelevant.
After a few more minutes of chasing the Praetorian around Narita, it finally found its way to a tradelane and was gone. Officer Szerano and I attempted to follow it, but we lost contact with the ship as it got too close to the star in the center of the system. I had assumed that the Corsair burned up in the sun, but later reports told me that he had been seen escaping through Honshu. The bomber survived, but at least it is gone from our space.
Today began with a call from our Gaian ally, Aoyagi Ritsuka, requesting assistance against three Outcast fighters in Kyushu. I was the first to arrive, and engaged immediately. Soon after a KNF gunboat appeared, followed by other allies. At this point, I was not paying attention to any ships but the three Outcast Sabres. so I do not know who to credit. Unfortunately, before any of the others were able to get in range of the fight, Aoyagi's ship was destroyed. As I understand it, one of the newly-arrived ship tractored in his pod and returned him to Planet New Tokyo.
From that point on, the fight lasted a long time. I believe that in the end, we had lost one ship, and so had the Outcasts. The remaining two fled.
As I returned to New Tokyo, I was told that there was a Corsair at the planet. Aoyagi Ritsuka (refitted in a new ship, I assume) was already there talking with him. Soon, the Black Dragon Society's Kokuryu came onto the scene, and spoke to the Corsair, attempting to persuade him to leave. The Corsair, however, insisted that he was only "sightseeing." Eventually, two more Corsairs appeared, claiming that they were with this first one. It was an odd assortment of ships: Altogether, the three of them had a Crow HF, an Eagle VHF, and a Sabre VHF. At long last, we at the planet persuaded them to leave. Myself, Aoyagi-san, and the Kokuryu followed to make sure. After a few minutes, we ended up in the Chiba field, and Aoyagi-san and Kokuryu broke off, leaving me to escort the three Corsairs. However, they stopped in the field, and attempted to coax me into fighting them. I told them that I had wasted enough time with them, and left.
However, the Corsairs followed me back to Narita Outpost, where Aoyagi Ritsuka and a few other KNF ships were already waiting. Before the battle even started, one of the Corsairs dropped off of my scanners, leaving just the two. Aoyagi-san and I quickly dispatched of the Eagle VHF, leaving only the Sabre. Upon seeing his friend's ship destroyed, the Sabre told us that he would leave. So I followed him as he cruised toward the Honshu gate, to make sure he found his way out.
About two thirds of the way to the gate, the Sabre quickly changed direction. I followed him as he attempted to take a lane back toward Planet New Tokyo, and he was intercepted by two other KNF ships. Fed up with this pointless chase, I told the ships to open fire on the Corsair. Before we were able to destroy him, he engaged cruise engines, saying that he would leave Kusari. Again, I followed him.
This time he made it to the gate, but there the Corsair was ordered by the Naginata to cut its engines. It did not, and continued on through to the Honshu system. Once he was there, the Corsair took off in the wrong direction to leave Kusari space. I followed him past Yukawa Shipyards, and toward the planet. Fortunately, a group of Blood Dragons had disrupted the lane, and I was able to catch the Corsair. At this point, I was at the end of my rope. I had had enough of his nonsense and his running, and so I opened fire. I almost had him beat when he engaged his cruise engines and fled. None of my disruptors hit, and I attempted to follow. Unfortunately, he was already too far out from me, and I soon lost him on my scanners.
The next time I see this "Corsair," he will be shot on sight.
It was one long, long day. I'll try to keep each segment short; a lot happened.
To start with, I have finished outfitting my Umibozu bomber. Previously, I had taken it out for patrols unfinished, still missing some of the augmentations to make it fit for police work. Now it is fine-tuned and ready for action. My Tamahagane is everything I hoped it would be.
A few hours later, and I was down in Shikoku. A miner told me about pirates asking for silver and platinum ore coming up from Liberty. I told him that the KSP is well aware of this, and that we are doing everything we can to stop it.
I flew to Kyushu, where I saw a Mandalorian about a dozen K out from Tsushima. He did not answer my hails, and disappeared soon afterward. I believe that he may have been experiencing some sort of systems malfunction.
I docked on Tsushima for refueling, and came back out to find a smuggler in a "Big Dragon" transport carrying military vehicles toward the Tau 29 gate. I stopped him, and after a discussion told him to drop off the vehicles off at Tsushima. The smuggler, TK-879, feigned compliance. I let my guard down, and he slipped into the tradelane before I could disrupt it. He will be shot next time he enters Kusari.
After this, KNF pilot Koudai Hayate and I responded to an alert from the Honshu system. I found a single Kiretsu fighter there and began pursuit. The pilot, Zetsumai, was able to shake me off in the rocks of the Hiyo Cloud. As I began my flight back to the planet, a Consortium ship announced it presence in-system with a sensor ping. Koudai-san and I scouted the system. There were times when I was able to see it's signature on my scanners, but for no more than a second. Eventually, Koudai-san found the ship near Yukawa Shipyards. By the time I had arrived at the location, it was gone. Koudai-san suspected that the ship might have taken the lane to Kansai Station, and followed the lane until he found the Consortium again, in the Hiyo Cloud. Once more, the outlaw was able to escape due to the cloud's interference with ship scanners.
Immediately after this, I received a distress call from a trader in Shikoku. He reported a pirate asking for his cargo. Repeatedly, I asked them trader to tell me the name of this pirate, though I got no response from him. I arrived in Shikoku and found nothing amiss. It could have been any one of the gaijin traders that had committed the crime. I returned to New Tokyo.
And here, things began to get confusing. There was another Consortium ship in New Tokyo. Aoyagi Ritsuka and Koudai-san were already at the scene, apparently questioning the machine. After too many questions, the machine shut down. It did not respond to any of our hails, but simply sat there doing nothing. With some creative thinking, I rebooted its CPU with a cruise disruptor. It came back online, and Aoyagi-san continuing to pry at the machine for information.
The rest from this point on... I don't know how I can explain it. Two Kiretsu fighters arrived on the scene, Zetsumai and Aosoraki, as well as an affectionate Nomad. I... honestly don't know what happened here. As I said, it was very confusing. The Nomad was "inspecting" each of our ships, the Consortium ship was frightened and trying to run, and Aosoraki (Zetsumai had left, for whatever reason) was trying to connect with the Nomad. Aoyagi-san, Koudai-san, and myself weren't sure what to do.
Well, then Koudai-san left, seeing the situation as non-hostile, then the Consortium ship fled, Zetsumai returned... and Aosoraki opened fire on Aoyagi-san. I returned fire, Zetsumai joined in, and suddenly we had a battle on our hands, while the Nomad darted about watching.
Aoyagi-san was able to destroy Aosoraki, but was then destroyed by Zetsumai. Zetsumai and I jousted, and ultimately my Wyrm was destroyed as well. The Nomad, surprisingly, picked up the pods of the fallen combatants and returned us all to our homes.
Now I am back on New Tokyo, exhausted after a hard day's work, and ready to retire for the night. Sayonara.
This report is going about my first patrol after I had finished the well know education at our famous KSP Academy on Planet Tokyo.
I had to go to the Fuchu Prison in the Shikoku system because my ship was ready and waiting for me.
After my take off I got immediately a request from a miner who was asking if I could check the TL from Deshima Station to planet Junyo.
As a reward I got some money which I used to improve my ship.
Via my long range intercom I got a message for joining a group with an IG (Imperial Guard). It was an honour to serve such a high-ranked Samurai.
This group was chasing a Planetform pilot, named something like Nova which was probably smuggling contraband.
I got the order to stay alert by the JG from the Honshu system to the New Tokyo system.
There I encountered a Wild but he was smart enough not to take any action against me and he vanished into deeper space.
After fierce investigation I noticed that this Planetform pilot escaped through our nets into Sima-19. After this I asked for permission to leave my post so that I could continuing my daily patrol. My permission was granted so I could continue my patrol. Back in the Shikoku system I received strange messages of an unknown pilot.
Really negative messages which is better not to put on paper. But I can tell you this that it was against the KSP and also against our beloved Empire.
Soon I noticed that it was transmitted by a Blood Dragon who thought he could brain wash me.
I ignored him, but I let him understand that it was false hope for him, if he tried to convince me whit his poisoned talk.
When he noticed that I did not react at all on him he tried to do it on another way; battle
I am not afraid of those bastards but I know when I can take the change and at this moment it was better that I left him alone in his depressed situation.
Therefor I continued my trip and landed safely, sat on my own table in the officers mess and began to write my first report.
Signing off,
Toko.Oyashio
P.S.: I reported to the officer of technical support that my camera is not functioning as it
have to be.
Hopefully it will be functioning fine next time. Without pictures I can not prove
anything.
This report is already a couple of days late, for reasons discussed below, and I may have forgotten some of the finer details.
While patrolling the lanes in Kyushu, I heard a report of a Consortium ship in New Tokyo. I jumped, and as I made my way toward Shinjuku, I encountered a freelancer who claimed to have already destroyed the enemy ship. He had tractored in some parts of the wreckage, and gave them to me. I realized that the hardware was, at least partially, intact.
After closer inspection, however, I realized that the Consortium hardware was incompatible with ours. I couldn't find any recognizable data ports or plugs on the small black box. I asked the freelancer where he had destroyed the Consortium ship, and he gave me precise coordinates, not far from Shinjuku Station. Parts of the destroyed ship were still there, possibly salvageable. After perhaps an hour of searching, I came across what appeared to be an adapter, perhaps used to connect the Consortium machines to unaltered Sirius ships. With it, I was able to plug the box straight into my ship's computer, and copy most of the information from the Consortium remains.
With that taken care of, I flew back to Shinjuku to thank the freelancer for his help, and at the same time tell him to be on his way. But when I got there, I encountered a Consortium salvage ship, obviously here to collect the wreckage of the downed fighter. It detected the hardware on my ship, and demanded it back. Knowing that I could do nothing more with it, and that my Wyrm was no match for the salvage ship, I obliged, and jettisoned it all. Apparently satisfied, the salvage ship left.
I sat by Shinjuku for a few hours more, keeping an eye on the trade vessels heading to Kyushu. Eventually, a Consortium escape pod showed up, and sent out a distress call. As I came closer to it, the pod began moving again, almost at cruise-speed, firing distress flares in all directions. I followed it to the Hokkaido gate, where it jumped. But to my surprise, I was unable to follow. My ship refused to dock with the jumpgate. Confused, I tried to head back to the planet, and found that my ship would not enter the trade lanes, either. Realizing that this may be an effect of the Consortium program I had copied, I cruised all the way back to Yokohama Shipyard.
I had the technicians there transfer the Consortium program to their computer network, but whatever the program had done to my Wyrm was not reversed by this. The technicians at Yokohama are still working on my ship, and only recently repaired its communications arrays. I'm taking a transport ship back to Planet New Tokyo soon, and my Wyrm will remain where it is for now. I will have to make my regular patrols in Tamahagane for a few days, it seems. Hopefully, my Wyrm will be back in working condition soon.
Yesterday after joining some lessons at our Academy I got the order to go on the usual daily patrols.
As fast as I could, I switched in my survival suit and went to my ship which was just cleared from checking by my technician.
Soon I had our beloved home planet New Tokyo behind me and was heading to the Shikoku system. Rumours are going around that this is a system where pirates are highly active. After I jumped trough the jump gate I put my long range scanner on line and tried my new thrusters which was recommended in one of those KSP bulletins.
Thrusters on-line and what a sound, the G-force pushed me back so tight that I could not breath for a second or two. I was a little surprised about this power. I got to be used to it before I have to deal with difficult situations. That was a perfect excuse not to use the trade lane to planet Junyo.
My scanner did not show any hostility near this planet and I continued my way to Deshima Station by taking the trade lane. When I was half away I saw a Zoner and a Junker on the same spot. Suspicios That woke up my interest and I exit from the trade lane and went out for investigation. I scanned the Zoner and in my opinion there was no contraband on the ship. About the Junker I can not say anything because I was to slow with scanning its cargo bay or it was already in the trade lane. Therefor I went further on my patrol.
Deshima Station area was clear, next jump gate to Kepler system. Clear. Back to New Tokyo then
Of course I checked so now and then my self constructed scanner and noticed that there was a Blood Dragon ( ]bd[Miyamoto.Musashi ) in New Tokyo waving its nets.
This was the same who tried to brain washed me a few days ago. This had to be stopped.
I flew as fast as I could, but I could not find him anymore in the New Tokyo system. He fled to the Hokkaido system, not my favored place
Near Narita Outpost I met again the Zoner and the Junker probably to get some cargo. I scanned them both but they where clean, no contraband.
On my way to Honshu I got a strange feeling It was my last part of my patrol and my destination was Akita Border Station.
After a small stop on Osaka Storage Facility, I continued my patrol.
And just before Akita Border Station it happened There he was, that Blood Dragon!
What to do? I was so wise not to engage and held of a safe distance. He began to speak again and used nice and friendly but poisoned words.
I tried to convince him that he was not welcome here and that he has to leave. He noticed that he could not win the talking so he engaged me with all what he had.
I hit my new thrusters and evaded his first salvo of fire simply and was even able to do some damage on his ship.
He was not afraid and engaged again. This had to be stopped soon otherwise I will floating in deep space soon.
I tried to reach Akita Border Station but my ship was hit so badly that I had to push on the red button to eject myself before my ship was blow up.
Thanks to the special device in my escape pod Akita Border station could beam me up.
There they brought me with great care to the intensive care. The nurse who take care for me told me that I had to thank myself because I was wearing that survival suit. Without that it could be ended much more worse.
She told me also that I have to rest and so I will be soon strong enough to join the force again.
Another tiring day, but a productive one. Officer Szerano and I helped out our newest recruit, Kyou Isamu, in dispatching a few pirates today. He's a good man, and will make a welcome addition to our ranks.
There was also an incident involving a Shire and a Hogosha transport... but truth be told, I'd rather not expand upon that. There was controversy as to whether or not the captain of the Shire was a Bretonian or not.
I also interdicted two smugglers today at Shinjuku, one with plutonium and another with military vehicles, both hoping to pass through the Tau systems with their cargo. The first was cooperative, and took his plutonium elsewhere. The second transport pretended to take another route, but I caught it in Shikoku at the Tau 29 gate only a few minutes later, with the same cargo of military vehicles. I was unable to stop if from jumping to Tau 29, however. This smuggler, an IMG transport called Kylix, will be shot the next time it enters Kusari. It was warned against its actions and chose to ignore me. And so it must be taught with force.
First of all this report is delayed because of some malfunction of my communication equipment.
Two days ago I started to patrol near the Kansei and got a message from a CR pilot that my help could be needed in the Hokkaido system.
I changed my intercom and scanner on the very long distance setting and so I noticed that the CR pilot was talking the truth.
At Hokkaido where at that moment a lot of our enemies, Blood Dragons, fighting against our honourable forces of our Navy.
After a few short coded messages I was on my way to Hokkaido with the hope that I did not come to late to give any assistance.
We all know, because of those radar disturbing nebulas, that it is hard to find out the place where you have to be but I found the place of battle soon enough to see how some Blood Dragons ships where blow up into the empty space.
Afraid not to disturb the strategy of the Navy, but ready to engage the enemy; I did my best to find out where the best place could be to give the final strike.
And again an enemy was drifting in space this time a Rogue. Strange that they are here so far away from their home system.
After the last enemy was down I got the order to repair and fresh up at the shipyard in the New Tokyo system.
On my way I got some prisoners transferred from the battle ship of Commander Tawaromoto and the order to bring those to our prison in the Shikoku system.
After this I lost contact with this group.
Sitting at my table and writing this report I realised that I learned again something new what I can use later.
