I don't know the members oorp'ly, however from my experiences in-game with the CL}, they seem like a worthwhile faction inRP. RP is great from what I have read/seen ingame, and most notably they enjoy doing what they do, which I have not seen in a faction for a long time. Sure they act a bit lulzy in group chat, but they are quite active and enjoyable to fly with.
Great faction. Hope they continue with this enthusiasm and great RP ingame and on the forums.
Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts... perhaps the fear of a loss of power.

They represent the group they are attached to and as an entire council, ideas are exchanged as no single group should be entirely alone in making all decisions.
Then how come 101st is the one holding official status if you yourself agree that each Outcast group fulfills a portion of the nation's roleplay and InRp the one in charge is the council of dons?
My honest opinion is, in cases like this with certain factions that are too large to be covered by one official faction, official faction leaders should be less stubborn and hand over their oorp-rule-wise official status to a form of "central government", which would take all the existing groups as its subgroup and everyone would have an equal say in the matters concerning their faction as a whole. Pretty much a player-wise play style to what the council of dons is to Outcast characters.
From what I've seen during my interactions with CL} on different chars and my brief time in their Skype chat, one of the reasons they've taken a rather unfriendly stance toward 101st InRp is because they know there's no way they can go official without taking 101st's place rule-wise, but if the Outcasts nation already had a central government as the official faction, with all the decent player factions as its subgroups, I'm sure this would've never been the case long as 101st didn't try to push indies and other groups around the way they want (which recently has been rather contradictory to Outcast roleplay in general at certain points).

While I do agree, I don't see how this would work out in practice. How do you track this faction's activity, if the overlapping faction probably doesn't ever get out in space (much like the "Government of Liberty" is forumlancer-only, you don't exactly see politicians flying around). You'd probably have to track all the individual tags. Right now, that's not how the activity tracker works.
I can also see it becoming the biggest pile of e-drama in Disco, if that's even possible. Sooner or later, one of the subfactions will find some reason to dislike another, and things fall apart.
while i have yet to see the roleplay of CL ingame myself, i have heard numerous comments and opinions on them. their actions towards the 101st was partially our own fault, as i let an inadequate and unsuited player take command while i was absent. As far as i can tell, Irwin only harbour good intentions, however his faction, and his agenda is not yet ready to lead an entire nation.
his faction, if they continue to grow and evolve, would become a mighty fine contestant for official status, yet they must "mature" as a leading force, and a governing body before they are anywere near being ready to take on the 101st.
with that being said, i have for a long time wished to restore the powerbalance as it was back when SOB/BLS and 101st were ruling together. Seeing as admins are reluctant to let go of the 1-faction pr id rule, and they would in most cases do right in holding back, i feel that i have few options left to reach my goal.
one such method would be to request our own ID, which is a double edged sword. such decision could either work out, or the 101st will become like another pvp-whore breeding lolwutfaction.
while it is normally a bad idea to discuss ones factions future, i can confirm that the 101st are indeed loking into the possibility of another faction gaining official status ALONGSIDE ourselves.
simply put, the outcast roleplay is too diverse to be covered by a single faction.
the 101st has been a defining force within discovery for nearly half a dozen years, and i am not letting that legacy slip away without a worthy contestant.
and to all the out-of-context-trolls, this aint a challenge, and Irwin knows it.

*coughs* You've got my support.
I like that CL represents an ordinary outcast "family" rather than warriors from Erathia, tentacle lovers etc.
Now CL is cool and shiny, but i know how players lose their enthusiasm sometimes.
Roll calls and lots of internal RP posts aren't the things that keep people playing under a certain tag in the long run i think.
For me that's more like a window dressing to achieve the favor of wannabe server elite.
