Barge is too big. Its a third longer than longest vanilla ship, the Nomad Battleship. Barge is a very good experience and example where some limits are. To put energy in projects even more above the limits, as usable playership isn't worth it.
Its another thing when making this colony ship a station only. There limits are much higher, but i think it will be not that easy to make a hitbox for.
I have an idea, make it a bit bigger and turn it into a NPC base. something that big would be sooo much fun to fly around ^^

If it were implemeted, it should be purchased, and then moved by a staff member to whatever system it will remain in, and not be able to leave that system.
Battleships are already large enough to qualify as moving homes (for crew's families and the like), so it would have to be a moving base, and therefore not be able to leave either a single system that it is put in, or a set of systems where it's faction has full control.

But I guess it's simply too big to be implemented for anything.
Wouldn't it be possible to simply scale the model down a bit?
