I was recently installed 4.87 on my computer, cheers, it's an awesome mod. But after a while I decided to revert back to the original and finish up my storyline there. I exited out of 4.87, put the disc in (I'm not using an .iso), and started up Freelancer. It was working fine until it got past the exposition part. My computer simply exited out of fullscreen, went black in a window, and promptly closed Freelancer. I tried again to no avail. Since I have no idea what is going on here, I decided to ask the forums, and here I am!
Short version: How do I disable 4.87 to play the original?
Thanks all!

I got crashes on vanilla, due to Documents/My Games/Freelancer folder containing Discovery things. Move that folder out and start vanilla and you should be fine.
Discovery v4.87 installs separately from your vanilla installation, so to play vanilla Freelancer, all you need to do is run Freelancer.exe from the vanilla folder. However, you may need to delete your single player save game files after having played Discovery (as described above). Consider backing up those files if you wish to keep any Discovery single player saves you might have.
All these months, I had the same problem but never had asked. Hmm, never felt it necessary. Now, its like a sweet on the plate offer ... Got to try it ...
Hey everyone! Thanks for all the help, I took out the single player files from the Documents/My Games/Freelancer folder, and now original Freelancer is working perfectly fine
Thanks again!
