Colorado is stuffed with small wrecks, so I'm not buying the junker line. Big hole in planet is a bit... meh. The purpose of war is not to destroy territory but to claim it.
I do like the idea of a few planetoids getting assploded, creating asteroid fields in interesting places, and while small wrecks are cool, interactive wrecks are better - they don't have to drop codes, but could drop interesting equipt/start unique missions to claim interesting equipt.
Weren't we already told that if you want to have some sort of unique content you might as well make it yourself and then submit it to the devs for evaluation, since they are too preoccupied with existing projects already?
So instead of complaining about this and that, go to Starport, grab a tutorial and get busy.

PSA: If you have been having stutter/FPS lag on Disco where it does not run as smoothly as other games, please look at the fix here: https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthrea...pid2306502

So devs should stop working on stuff which will directly improve gameplay in certain game area because adding some eyecandy is more important? How about no (by the way I don´t even play in Omicrons, but I understand why its update is important)?

As I see it, the Dev's are doing an incredible job on keeping this game alive for this long. So they must be doing something right. I agree that there could be wrecks or some other eyecandy here and there. However the past time tells me that the Dev's have the right priorities. Keeping Disco alive is the main goal after all.

Agreed, though I can't say I disagree with the OP, but in my opinion discovery lacks discovery

My suggestion:
Take each of the main battleship models, break them in half (into two models) and add some spark/fire fuses to the jagged edges. Those two halves can then be custom placed to simulate destroyed capital ships (as opposed to the current situation where you have an intact model where someone appears to have turned the lights off). By having the wrecks act as technically two different models, they avoid appearing the same everywhere they appear.
This minor modelling job would give you a whole lot of bang for your buck, seeing as those two assets could then be used over and over without looking repetitive.
I also think it'd be a good idea to recreate the old RM fighter wrecks in Sigma 13, at least in concept. As in, absolutely saturate certain areas with cookie-cutter wreck entries, with one or two concealed among them that contain special or rarer equipment, to represent aces. Wrecks could even be used as throw-away nods to player characters or developments seeing as they're largely inconsequential to the overall storyline.
For Leeds, I'd also recommend having the arms broken off the New London Jump Gate / other misc vandalism and damage, and a scrap field added around it. Sappers completely destroyed it to prevent Gallia reactivating it, but there wasn't the time / will to do the same for Newcastle - it was simply sabotaged internally and deactivated, with Solar working feverishly on getting it back and functional again.
To the people saying Discovery lacks Discovery - well, congratulations: you're playing a mod that's almost 10 years old. Most of us have been playing here so long that we can probably name all of the mod's systems and how they connect to each other off-hand from sheer familiarity.
For new players, there's a whole lot of stuff to find; systems, gear, factions. I remember when I first started playing, exploring the Omicrons was great fun, and they've been considerably extended since then. That's not to mention new House systems and other bits and bobs that are tucked away and need to be actively searched for.
For a while, the dev mentality was to keep pumping new systems in to avoid that sense of familiarity, but that's obviously a failed experiment because it's led to the system bloat and to an extent individual system's underdevelopment that we have now.

After reading the Bold part, I thought of Gallia ...
Anyways, it's all nice and fine to make content to ourselves and then submit them... and let it get lost in the devs private maze, like models and such usually do afaik , but then the problem would be that not everyone does effects or things the exact same way, making the whole mod a complete mess, or nothing would be accepted by devs, either because of quality, or cause it differs too much from each other.
Fe. I'm tryint to make models, but I don't even know the "standards" @Haste, @Treewyrm or anyone else wants to see ( polycount, etc, etc ) however the only dev who cared to answer my question or even reply was @Tachyon. So with that in mind, comes the question ... how am I suppose to make anything without actually knowing what they would even consider to include ?
