With regard to the better ones and/or those that only occur as a single one in a wreck...would owning two or more Solaris' say be seen as evidence of wreck camping or whatever?....i have a Junker who has one Solaris mounted on his Collector....this is a handy firepower upgrade since the Barranger series fires at the same speed as codenames and the collector has only 3 gun mounts, making for quite limited whack for a VHF.....It would be nice to have two Solaris' say and a missile mounted in the third slot. Another Character of mine [a Rogue in a GB] with no use for Guns has aqquired a second one while flying through a certain system and happening to check out a certain wreck just on the off-chance nobody had looted it yet.....I know this is MY knowledge at work but i don't see it as camping 'cos he was on his own business in that sector and all.....So basically would it be Ok for this guy to pass the gun onto his Junker pal or would that be bad form or something?

People 'harvest' wrecks day in and day out on here, its called the Arms Trade.
When it comes to using them in combat, its considered ungentlemanly to fully load up on Codenames, but most player factions allow up to 2 on their ships with their own weaponry.
In the end there is no rule to stop you, just put some RP effort into it if your asked.;)
Ungentlemanly? I am sorry, but just about every fighter out there has 4 CODE's. Corsair's,and outcast's especially. And yes so do i, as i was getting tired of being raped every PvP i had. So 2 solarus gun's are fine as alot of people have 4.
I hate to say it but with the number of players who have ships F1'd out near wrecks just to collect the codes it is far to easy to find someone selling them. I have seen traders with as many as 30 for sale at one time. The trouble is that if you do not buy and equip them your enemy will and you will not stand a chance in a fight with them. I think i read somewhere that some factions were restricting the number of codes per ship but that will not stop the indie's or others from mounting all they can get their hands on. It's kind of like the arms race keep up or die.
I was even told today of a guy who has characters F1'd out near the wrecks where you get the ARCHANGEL that you can only get once per character and when he gets it he deletes that character and makes another for the sole purpose of collecting that ARCHANGEL. To me that is so wrong as to deserve a ban. Don't get me wrong i will buy any i can if someone in my group needs them but having a character solely for collecting them is just plain sad.

I agree. i hate wreck camper's. They spoil other's fun, and charge a fortune for CODE's. I have 12 char's, and maybe 15 CODE's between all of them. This is how it should be. Of course by all mean's if you have another in a system you know has CODE's? go check it out. I have even compared screen's i took when i got the red lagg, then crash, with screen's 5 min after, and 30 after. It is amasing how many new, useless named ship's appear, then vanish to be replaced by known ship's.
Well, yeah I guess if people are routinely fitting 4 then I'm safe enough since I want him to keep using the Collector....[I just love the CSV model] I wish there was enough mounts to keep some Barragers too [even the lower end ones]....I think its good planning that they fire at the same speed as codenames....as if Junker designers built' em around the concept of a mounted salvaged codie or two.....but with 2 Solaris I can afford the "luxury" of a missile launcher as well. [which is handy when NPCs peel off from their attack on fire, regen and then come back at you again, I've been using a top end CD as a substitute missile for such guys....]

'specially since they're the crappiest codes available. >.< I think they're getting a boost in refire for the next version, though. Up to 5.00, I think.
Myself, I only use codes on my RM (4 of them), and only then 'cause Hornvipers are... extraordinarily weak, and Firekisses are... let's not talk about Firekisses. >.<
