Infinite cloak is logical on larger vessels. Maybe make smaller cloaks use liquid cardamine. That would stimulate both team and role play. Of the type that Mindnodes and Nom Cruisers and Marduks fill a role here.
Mindnodes: Coordination and communication between the lesser species.
Irra Cruiser: Some support type cant determine its function
Marduk: Control over the lesser species, reproduction and communication with the hive or something.
For an example while Mindnodes or larger noms are around they could keep their ships cloaked as well for they will trade the liquid.
Option two is to force the indies to make an engagement notice by changing their ID. Thats sounds stupid to me as they are aliens they can engage. Also K'hara shouldnt need a notice as well, but even if it is removed I am sure they will keep RPing.
Noms not having to write an engagement notice is RP actually. That would make Order and Core pilots more cautious in the DANGEROUS Omicrons. So next time when you start writing long messages in the omicrons you will think twice.
As for lovely guys from Order fighting the nomads... I do not see us really doing that. I do not know about the others, but I do not feel like logging to fight a ship that I cannot find and if I somehow manage to kick its ass, it will just cloak and run. Yes, we fight the nomads. If they attact us. They have infinite cloaks, therefore they cannot be attacked if they do not want to be.
As there are no means of disabling a cloak, we cannot actively hunt nomads, we cannot protect anything from nomads. Technicaly with this system, a nomad battlefleet can come and uncloak right next to Akabat, kill it like Toledo and fly away again. And noone can do anything against it, as they are invisible, undetectable and dont have to RP.

I read this now multiple times regarding infinite cloaks as well as "normal" cloaks and their duration time.
It always boggles my mind.
Wouldn't it be more logical to say: cloaking a small object also requires less "energy" thus small objects would also be able to produce the required amount of "energy"/have a lower usage of fuel to maintain a cloak just as long as a big ship?
Wait, if were going with this logic, it also makes the very same sense to allow GRN insta any BPA or BAF. That's right, if the math is danger+enemy+dangerious place = free engagement - there are other places, including outcasts with img and so on. This allowance was not made so that you can use the "dangerious" card - it was done to allow a more pvp approach to those who don't like to rp much. On what price however? Why is it wrong for a corsair such as myself to insta a nomad, when it is not only clear that he has bad intention, but also its a duty to any human scumbag, how evil he may be - to kill those creatures. You have the order you may say, wrong - that faction is dead, and has been dead for the last year - because of various reasons, and im sure this is just one of them - and even then, are we supposed to stroke our beards and wait for them to show up? we are talking about insta-engagements here remember? If it was just an insta-engagement WITHOUT cloak, that wouldnt be a problem - but uncloaknig + insta is - no matter how many reasons you come up with, its not only unfair, but a complete abuse.
Snub class nomad ships aren't even good. They're so easy to hit.
As for the caps, if you're going to go parading through the Omicrons like it's a field full of dandelions then you're asking for it. Stop getting upset. Decent nomads RP. If they don't, they're boring and you're better than them. Not that hard to avoid anyway.
First off, GRN-BAF doesn't make sense. Both are humans. We are talking about (Hold your breath) ALIENS. So it is logical that an alien wouldn't stop for a cup or tea before engaging you.
Second, since this is about indies considering 99% K'Hara do RP first, there is no ship they can use that can insta kill. Unless you are AFK or just sitting there, and even then MAYBE a gunboat could. So really, where is this insta-kill situation everyone brings up? I just said in a Skype chat that I fly through the Omicrons all the time, and only ONCE in the past year have I found a Nomad that uncloaked and started attacking. I got away fine and was in a Whale of all things.
So this abuse/insta-kill/unfairness? I see zero evidence of such.

What moveit and the rest of the guys dont realize is that, at one stage people complain about the caps that are being used in the omicrons ( and lemme clerify, moveit is not part of that movement ) - so for community cohesion, were not using caps - but then they defend the nommies right to uncloak and engage freely, and because we cant use caps because people like *insert forum name* might be offended, we are stuck in the corner - and end up dead. Deal with it? No, i won't deal with it. Everytime someone tries to restrict something, it automatically buffers something else - and just like nature, it all falls into place - in a bad place, where one faction is above average, and others are not. And im not pissed, I'm just being very skeptical and contrevisial about this subject. If you don't allow people the minimum chance to do something to protect themselves, why would anyone stay here? Even the order is rather annoyed by this idea, so you see - despite my deep unpleasent approach to them, we both agree on something.
last minute edit ;
Heres the match.
Cant use caps because some people are always offended
Use snubs or transports by default = poor armor = poor chance to survive
End = Dead.
If I was able to bring out my cap without a pumpkin shouting at me, I wont have any problem for these uncloaking figures, what could they do to a legate eh? But they are more than enough to take out a poor BW transport.
So, are you still going to deny this? I'm just wondering why do you people tell others " Its dangerouis, you don't like it, dont enter it " - is that the philosophy? at one day complaining the lack of activity and the other day encouraging it? Am I the only one who see this double standrad?

Sure I will take my small rowing boat and will put Queen Mary's engines on it. I will try to sail with it 5 meters and tell you the results....
My point is larger ships have the capacity to maintain their energy requirements.
Plus on normal human ships, 1 fighter has 1/3 of its mass for the cockpit and cargo hold, 1/3 for engine and core and the rest 1/3 goes to weapons. Larger HUMAN vessels can fly with a crew of 20 I assume, that means more space for cargo hold, weapons, larger engines and larger core capable of supporting the engines which drain only a small part of its capacity as the ship needs to shoot and maintain life support.
The Marduk and the other Nomad caps DO NOT HAVE PILOTS. They are just big organisms that have the inherited ability to CLOAK. Like you have the ability to see, hear, breath, walk...
Isn't this why Zoners own all those peaceful Capital warships? Fly those in the Omicrons if you're afraid of the big, bad Nomad snubs with infinite cloaks.
