Probably the wrong subforum but I have a question.
Just fought a guy in conn, he was jittering on my screen and when I asked him, true enough he was playing at 144 fps, but he said he had a screen with a high refresh rate, so it's np.
However he was still jittering on my screen, so what are the rules regarding this?
If his FPS is too high, he'll jitter. 144 isn't quite high enough for that to happen so make sure it wasn't just your game screwing you over. (Conn is notorious for FPS issues)
Well why don't people just play at 60 and we'd be without this stuff?
It might be my connection, that's why I asked him, but he's the only ship I fought that jittered.
Also I am quite sure that the guy wasn't deliberately cheating, but probably thinking that 144 is npnp - but again, it was quite noticeable on my screen, so it can hardly be np.

Video it, report it, let admins review it. Though it's difficult with things like that because Fraps itself makes FPS suffer. Sanctions have been made and dropped before.
It's no use limiting everyone to 60 because some get bad mouse lag, therefore they need to increase FPS to combat it. I play at 75 and it's fine. Went to 120 for a bit but it's not that useful for me personally.

nope, i used to have about 120-130 FPS on my old PC and i DID jitter, especially in group fights (and in group fights my FPS usually dropped below 100 and i was jittering). Well, maybe it wasnt jittering per say but i am not good dodger and if i can dodge 3-4 fighters in my bomber and they cant take my shield off, i know there is something terribly wrong. So 140 FPS is NOT ok!
I believe Disco would be a lot nicer place if everyone just played at 60 FPS (for those who have mouse lag - try to find another solution, i did).
No, I won't update my account to enable 3rd party hosting!
