He gave a chuckle, "Well your Gunter wasn't far off about you. He was obviously a man of good taste. You will have to tell me about him some time."
He finished his glass and that's when he realized that the bottle they were sharing was now empty. "My, my," he stated, "we seemed to have drank more than I thought we would." He then quipped, "How untherapeutic of me!" obviously joking about himself.
He sat up for a moment and shook his head, "Wow! This Schnapps is like Saki. Goes down easy but boy does it hit hard!"
He then looked at Hilda and took her hands, "Time, Hilda, time. Let's work through this before we get into someone else, little sisters and so forth."
"Perhaps we should retire for the evening and continue tomorrow? Your call," he asked of her.
Hilda looked at Doc and almost smiled. "Gunter was... he always picked die best of everything..." She then sighed a little. "Well... apart from... his occupation..." She looked away for a moment. "Both of our families have a proud past..." She looks back at Doc. "But... I am starting to think... that mien kinder are more important..." She then looks at the empty bottle. "Ja... I think it is a gut time to go to bed... but first... we should check on Gretel..." She gets up slowly shaking a little. "Ah... I may have had a little too much..."

"Yes, let's check on Gretel," he agreed, getting to his feet. Noticing that Hilda was shaky on her feet, he took her arm to help her. Together, they entered Gretel's room. It was dimly lit with a night light and for the time being, quiet. She was asleep and Doc gave Hilda a soft smile.
Hilda moved up towards the sleeping Gretel and keels down holding on the her small hand. "She... is hugging her... bear..." Hilda said with tears rolling down her face. "She... hasn't done that since..." Hilda moves up and kisses her daughter's forehead. "I think... she may... be coming out of her trance... but time will tell..." She said before she tucks Gretel into bed a little more. "Now... we should think about getting to bed..." Hilda said moving back to Doc.

Quietly, he left Gretel's room, leaving the room first so that Hilda could have the last look at her daughter. Once out, he gave a soft smile.
"I really don't think it was a bad first day," he said softly, "if she's out of the trance...."
He just shrugged.
"I agree, let's get some rest and see what tomorrow brings.......and sleep this schnapps off."
He then pointed at a door, "I'm assuming that's where I'm staying?" he asked of her.
Hilda looked at to where he pointed. "Ja... it is..." Hilda said. "I hope you will sleep well..." She smiles at him. "I know I will..." She then moved towards what seems to be her room. "Gut Nacht..." She said before she entered her room.

Doc watched her go off to her room. Satisfied she was down for the night, he slipped into his room and got into something comfortable. Her home was very comfortable, making anyone forget how cold it was outside. He drew the shade to his window and began making a log entry on the day.
Quote:Patients....Hildagarten von Ludwigsberg and daughter Gretel. Both traumatized by the loss of Gunter von Ludwigsberg, husband of Hildagarten and father of Gretel. Hilda is full of hate, full of rage at the Liberty Navy for his death. She probably doesn't realize it but her hatred drives her to slaughter innocents as well as Liberty personnel. I must help her overcome this.
She also feels that she suffers from infertility after a miscarriage due to what I think is stress. I need her medical files to better assess that.
Gretel misses her father, plain and simple. She responded to my voice as I sang to her. I hope she views me as a friendly voice and not her father. I couldn't possibly fill his shoes. She did seem to start coming out of her trance. Hopefully tomorrow yields better results.
Doc completed his entry before retiring for the evening.
After a few hours of restful sleep Hilda was standing outside Doc's room. "Herr Doktor... I hope you slept well..." She said knocking on the door gently. "It's almost time for breakfast... und er..." Hilda paused for a moment. "I hope you don't mind mien sons... they will arrive back from their school trip later today..." She waits patiently outside Doc's room.

Doc awoke from his sleep, the smells of breakfast outside of his door. He hadn't showered yet and figured after something to eat and some morning coffee, that opportunity would present itself. For now, he fixed his hair a bit and put on some sweats and a bath robe as he exited his room.
"Good morning, Hildagarten," he said with a smile to her, "I do hope you slept well."
He listened about her sons. "Of course I don't mind your sons. I'm sure they will want to speak with me as well." He paused a moment, "If it's not too forward, might I begin my day with some coffee before I see how Gretel is doing?"
Hilda seems to giggle.
"Well... I did sleep well Danke..." She then talks to someone outside the room in Rheinlandic. "Well... I can give you mein medical files... later on today..." She seems to be tapping her foot and speaks more Rheinlandic. "As for... Gretel... she is waiting at die dining table..." She seems to be waiting for Doc.
