Need some recommendations on cheap gaming laptops, has to be a laptop because i carry it everywhere with me and nothing masterrace either. I'm happy with 720p 40fps. Preferably something with more than 2GB RAM and 3.0GHz or above CPU. I have no idea what to look for as i've seen some "high-end" laptops perform worse than my crappy one, bonus points for providing a website that can get me something in South Africa.
Also, if i get a new pc i can transfer my characters to it right?
My Acer laptop is over clocked at 3.6 ghz quad core, 16 GB DDR4 ram 1 TB HDD and just Radeon R7 graphics that only cost me $650 CAN a few weeks ago. I needed something to carry around as well. It''s not stellar but it'll do what you want in your post easily enough and if get it at same price cool cuz the hardware is actually worth more. I bought it online on a sale and it was shipped for free. Check around.

gta san andreas, disco at 60fps with some decent graphics mods, american truck sim, euro truck sim 2 and world of warships, those are the only games i play these days - PS i'm not looking to play them all at ultra settings, just something that isnt literally 21 pixels that still lags (i'm looking at you, SCS Software)

Unfortunately, the compromise of Ultra settings won't be enough for <500 USD laptops. Those typically have really weak CPUs and Intel Graphics accelerators, which are terrible even for pre-historic, beat-rocks-together-to-get-a-fire standards; to play games, especially the newest Truck Sims and World of Warships, you'll want a laptop with a NVIDIA/AMD GPU. Anything that isn't pre-2007 super-early-entry-level-crap should run Freelancer fine and there are plenty of options even at <300 USD, but that would be a gigantic waste of money no matter how little you spent.
I'm not at all too sure how pricings go in the United States... In fact, I'm even having trouble finding a good laptop for you for <600 USD! I did find an okay deal here, though; I use a laptop with slightly worse specs and it still runs anything (albeit at a lower resolution in the case of newer games). You'll need to fork over more cash, though. Here's a slightly cheaper alternative on Amazon.
I think the only option for what you want is to go second hand hey.
I grew up in SA and know the second hard market quite well there, cash converters in a rich town is likely to have something, not sure where you're staying, but only a big town is gonna have something obscure like that and you wont be able to barter much as it's something they will like having in the window.
You have quite a small range of games that you play and they're mostly quite old apart from the SCS games (Euro Truck was amazing BTW). It depends how low in settings you want to go really. Take a look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwfZ3klSt6I
That was played on intel 4000 graphics on a random Acer laptop. You could probably find something running similar spec for around 5 grand (ZAR) on a good deal. You wouldn't need the SSD he has, not really important for gaming.
I don't think you'll ever find anything with a dedicated GPU (Nvidia/ATI) for your budget unless you buy something stolen in the township XD
It's worth keeping in mind that the cheapest dedicated GPUs are only a little better than something built into the CPU.
I would advise looking at the laptops that come up on gumtree (https://www.gumtree.co.za/s-pc-laptops/l...1c9438q0p1) in your area, then using the power of youtube to see how well that particular model plays the SCS titles, Freelancer and San Andreas are probably going to be fine. Hopefully something will eventually come up with all 3 criteria
- Not on the other side of the country
- within budget
- can play the games you want
I would just recommend being careful with gumtree in SA, always take a friend and don't go anywhere you wouldn't normally go. A good deal isn't worth your life.
Edit: Oh, disco launcher has an export button on the accounts page, you can just copy that file to the new PC and then use the import.
