Bear in mind that I only "acquired" Photoshop CS3 a few days ago, and only messed around with the screenshot a bit (most signatures I use are altered screenshots from one game or another)
I've never before altered a graphical thingy (That is, with the exception of just resizing a picture and putting words on it) with a computer in my life, suck at doing it in real life, and have never used any tutorials:P
Signature violates 1.7, please resize:
1.7 - Pictures that exceed 700px width or signatures that exceed 700*250px*3 MB are not allowed on the forum.

Looks nice, but there's nothing to concentrate on, as Gabrielle said. If it's gonna be a sig, put some text in front of it with a name or something:laugh:
THEY TOLD ME I COULD BE ANYTHING SO I BECAME A SIGNATURE PLS HLP
Sorry, don't like it. Cool snip of scenery (Islay cloud?), but there's no border, no focus, nothing else than then the BG. Then it looks like there's a smudge stick effect, then a plastic wrap one.
Too busy, needs more simplicity on what already is there, then addition in text, renders, etc.
This picture looks like a basic screenshot with a lot of filters slapped on it.
Try less filters, maybe a gradient instead and work on composition and focus. Actually, 'simple' doesn't have to be bad.
Basically, using the same rules as for photography is a good idea when it comes to graphic design (i.e. rule of thirds, depth of field, correct focus, correct lighting, correct composition...)
