There was a thunk as a drunk looking man in his late fifties sumbled in the door.
My ship! What have ye' done to ma ship, boy? I shouldav'e thought somethin' like that would happen!
Behind him a younger looking man walked in with an upset look and tried to restrain the old man from trying to reach for another bottle. Dad, dad, calm it, 'ight? I'm telling you it wasn't my fault. That cruiser...engine, darnit, i didn't do anything!
The old man looked like he was about to loose the last of the white hair on the sides of his head
Shut it, ladie, i told' ya this 'ould 'appen, told ya! Those navy boys are bad news for our family, o hope ya know 'at. Stay away from 'em at all costs, be glad we can put that ship back together. Ya can't just make a new salvager you know the older man spat back and collapsed on a chair I need a drink, boy, go and fix that ship, before i decide to shoot you back into your combat freighter!
Tom quickly took the glass away from his father and motioned with it towards the drunk one Ship, shmip, what about my crew? John is still in the med bay and i have no idea what is going to be with Lileth he murmured...
The older man only spat and stood up, a little wobbly as he did. I dun' care what happens to that girl, if she had done her job right, i may have a ship right now, now let me be, you hatchling the man growled silently and began to struggle to leave, ignoring his son.
Oi, what, against a carrier, a battleship and a few bombers and a fighter? ya, thanks, we'd be dead by the time our turrets would've locked on! the young man tried to explain, yet it all fell on deff ears as the old man marched out from the inn with a grumble, leaving Tom shaking his head. Old fool he murmured and then turned back to the bartender and sighed Fix me up something so good, that i forget what it was.
Kaisha walked up the hall into the bar, brushing her brown hair back, off of her face, she wore a dark green militant style uniform with a black leather flight jacket over it, and a blaster rifle on her back.
She was young, barely twenty, but that wasn't why so many of the patrons in the bar were staring intently at her, it was because despite her almost white skin, she had some rather obvious Kusari facial features, and that made alot of Junkers uneasy, atleast in her experience.
As she came out into the center of the bar, she noticed that Misao was here too, sitting by herself near a window, Kaisha also took note of the cyborg whom she knew as Chief Arbiter of the Congress, it seemed he had some sort of interest in her property...or maybe he was just curious..Either way she didn't know, or care at the moment, she needed a drink.
She headed toward the bar counter and tapped on it twice.
"Hey Barkeep?"
Winston came over to her.
"Mm, what is it ?"
Kaisha smiled to him a bit.
"You serve Sake here?..how 'bout a Sidewinder Fang?"
Winston nodded slightly.
"Well today's your lucky day! we do just happen to have a bottle of Kusari sake, and plenty of Sidewinder Fang's!"
Kaisha smiled to him again.
"Good! I'll take the sake, and a Sidewinder Fang!"
Winston nodded and placed two bottles on the counter, Kaisha slid a few credits over to him and then grabbed the bottles and headed for Misao's table, placing the Sake bottle down in front of Misao, then she sat down with her Sidewinder Fang.
A middle aged man walked into the bar, aparently unaware of anything that was happening.
"Yo , barkeep, some Liberty Ale for me"
"Sure thing. We are a bit crowded at the moment, can you tell me your name so i can put you in the queue ?"
"Just put me as MrUnusuall."
The man then sat down in one of the stools, awaiting for his drink. For his casuall clothes and manerisms its hard to belive that he is part of the Congress.
Misao looked up at her mistress, obviously surprised,
"Mistress Kaisha..."
She blushed, realizing the sake was meant for her,
"B.. but I never drank alcohol before...! F.. father never allowed me to..." she said timidly to her owner, looking down on the table, embarrassed.
Kaisha laughed slightly
"An Imperial who never drank Sake?!...My God...just what kind of family did you come from?! Go ahead...it's not gonna hurt you, but drink it slowly..."
There was a kindness in her eyes, and in her tone, not usual for that of a Slaver.
"Anyway...as you probably guessed by now, we're staying a few days on Rochester, maybe you can get some real rest now, enjoy it while it lasts.."
Misao smiled hesitantly. Mistress Kaisha was the only one of her owner she could actually feel a bit more relaxed, although she knew the woman was the one who purchased her like a mere object...
She drank of the sake, timidly, little sip after sip, and finished the bowl, smiling pleasantly, her cheeks already a bit more colored...
She looked at the bottle, as if asking her mistress the permission to have more...
Kaisha looked around, nodding slightly to Misao, she continued to look around the bar, wondering why it had gotten so quiet, noticing that there were still people there, but they weren't talking much.
The middle aged mans drink had finally arrived. He quickly grabbed it , almost as if he was stealing it away from the bartenders hands. He quickly drank it down in one go.
"Ahh , much better. Sorry , i dont tend to be talky without a lil alcohol in my blood, haha ! "
Misao took another bowl of the sake, and felt herself somehow happier than she was, forgetting for a moment in what sort of hell she was living now - or rather, she didn't cared anymore, as she laughed softly, thinking that, all was well...
Still, she managed to remain somewhat serious. It was hard to forget, you had a shotgun shell in the back of your head tied to a tight collar around your neck...
She looked at Kaisha,
"Mistress Kaisha..."
She hesitated a bit, but the alcohol helped her surpass her embarrassment,
"I.. I realize I am probably meaningless to you... and I don't fully understand you... but thank you for taking care of me like that. I know... I am probably very lucky to be with you..."
She held her breath for a few seconds, nearly expecting the scolding voice of Saito in her back, despite knowing the man was probably not here...
Rommie was observing the girl and what appeared to be her friend, but after watching for a while knew that wasnt the case. She walked up to the newcomer who looked drunk before he even started to have his drink.
"Ere, never seen those two in here before?" Rommie motioned the guy to look in the young girl's direction.
"Do you have a name lad?"
Rommie ordered another whiskey, she was clearly feeling the affects of all this alcohol now.
